They're concerned about playing Chandler at SG, but are considering moving him to PF??? I can't even recall what their weak offer for Rudy was anyway? Wasn't the rumor Rudy for Chandler?

Would it make sense to package Miller with Rudy in some type of (perhaps, even 3-way) deal to get us a b/u PF?

They offered 2 seconds for Rudy.

We don't need no sloppy seconds.

I suppose it depended on who that player is. I mean, if you believe all the negative hype surrounding Oden, we may as well get a nice C/PF. ;)

Miller and Rudy for Randolph and a pick.....I haven't even looked how that would work under the cap though

Of course they are. I watched a real training camp on the Knicks. They were so bad in practice I was laughing. Horrible.

Yes please. That would really help NY, too. Although if we thinned the herd I'd still rather keep Rudy, if he wanted to be here.

we'd be even worse at PG IMO. Bayless I like but not as a starting 1. that leaves awfully green at the 1.. unless we are planning on giving the ball to Roy a lot more like he wants.

They wouldn't take 2 2nd rounders for Rudy, but you expect them to take two 2nd-round-caliber players? One of them being yet another Jerryd Bayless? Hmm...I don't think so.

I'd love to get Randolph, but who starts at the PG spot for us if we do that deal?

I'm all for getting younger and more talented, but we don't exactly have a cupboard full of PGs...

Whats the difference between a future 2nd round pick and Landry Fields?

I've watched a lot of Toney Douglas and he is more a distributor than Bayless. Can hit the 3 better than Bayless. The only thing they really have in common is their athletic abilities. I'd take Douglas over what we currently have at the 2nd unit PG position anyday.

One takes a roster spot to have ANY value and the other does not.

They are also about the same size and play the same position (at least for now). Getting one when you already have the other doesn't really make much sense to me.

Douglas is 2.5 years older than Bayless and I'm still optimistic that Bayless is going to emerge as a good player. I'll keep Bayless and Rudy rather than add a guy like Douglas.

I think that Bayless, right now, is a better "point guard" than Douglas, which isn't really meant as a compliment to either player in terms of true PG skills. I'd take Armon Johnson over Toney Douglas as well.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Yeah, this is exactly my take too. I think Randolph is a better long-term asset than Andre Miller, due to their difference in age...but it seems to really hurt Portland in the short-term.

I think a lot of people sleep on Toney Douglas. Were talking about matching up a guy who can shoot with Roy having the offense run through him, I think Douglas is a better option than Bayless. Then again, I've always kind of been a Bayless "hater" so maybe my perspective is a little jaded.

I'd still trade Rudy for Toney Douglas...
