Can't say I am upset by this news.

Bader has some potential, but compared to Jones he is hopelessly raw. Jones needs to be fighting contenders, while Bader needs to be learning the sport.

I knew Bader wasn't ready for Jones, and he knows it, too. It was evident by his post fight interview. Give Jones Lil' Nog or the winner of Rampage/Machida.

Agreed. Besides this point I'm not sure why Dana even considered this fight in the first place. These two guys are two of the top prospects in the UFC and while we're all familiar with them the casual MMA fans are not. Seems like the loser of this fight would have had to start from square one all over again and you lost all the previous marketing and hype around him. Seems like you could have done better letting them both fight vets with established reputations then have them meet at the top when they're both stars (if everything goes according to plan).

Either way I wasn't really a fan of this fight happening and I think Jones needs to fight another one or two top level 205ers. Dominating Hammill, Vera, and Matyushenko is nothing to scoff at but I'd like to see him up against a veteran 205er who has at least been in title contention. Couture, Lyoto/Rampage, even Forrest or Rich Franklin. Couture is the only one who isn't booked and seems to make some sense IMO.

Maybe Dana wants to set up a scenario where both guys can eventually challenge for the title back to back? Cause Bader and Jones are considered the future of 205 so I can see some incentive to doing that.
