that a 34 year-old PG who has never defended well, never shot well, and never won in the playoffs will suddenly get better in his old age and lead this team to a title?

I don't think they do, considering there are always trade rumors involving this person.

Just because he's the point guard doesn't mean he has to lead us to a title.

Did Derek Fisher lead his team to a title?

Maybe Miller just has to be an acceptable player in the rotation, the 8th best player on our team. Nobody in the front office is expecting him to be the main man leading this franchise anywhere.

By most accounts, the Blazers' All-NBA player has been asked to adapt his game to the old PG who doesn't win in the playoffs. The old PG who was abused tonight by Golden State, while the All-NBA guard stood on the side hoping for the ball at times.

Hear hear! Give the ball to Roy! He is an All Star. Miller's career is nearly over. Find a guy who can play with Roy. Fisher doesn't dominate the ball. Fisher complements Kobe. We need a similar guy for Roy.

Had one. His name was Steve Blake. He was the PG on a 54-win team that was the second youngest in the NBA. Now, we have an aging ballhog who hasn't won a thing in his career, and the All-NBA guard is still confused on how to play with the ballhog who hasn't won a thing in his career.

May as well let Armon Johnson try the point. At least he tries to defend and knows his role on offense.

One reality is that the Andre Miller experiment should have ended after last season. That was the reason for the team option, right? 'Dre wins, or you use his $7 million in a trade to upgrade that position.

Instead, ownership let personal grudges get in the way, and any hopes for a major trade this summer were hamstrung because the team lacked a GM until mid-July. Now, here we are, and we're pretty much stuck with it at this point.

while I generally agree with the OP, I'd say that Roy could do a lot to solve this situation by saying "I'm the effing PG now. Wes, suit up and start. J-Bay and Rudy, get ready for some White Team minutes. Dre, it's been good knowing you."

Instead it's "I don't want to be the PG, but I want the ball in my hands much more".

Well, you might as well throw Batum and LA under the bus as they sucked as well during this PRE SEASON game. That seems to be your full criteria for evaluating players.

You're not even a Portland fan.

There isn't any evidence that Paul Allen or Cho believe that Miller is the answer at point guard.

I don't think KP felt that way either.

I think Portland had a ton of cap room that summer and couldn't get anyone else to come to Portland.

I don't think Portland has an answer for that position. They are going to have to make due with what they have and hope for the best.

what makes the blazers front office think that we can get away with no backup center when they had all summer to find a backup knowing greg and joels state?

our front office is just as bad as when kpee was here. miller isnt the answer, roy has become a prima donna and our center situation grows worst daily. has Cho watched the pre season?

It sure didn't take you long to turn on the new GM. Like many told you during your crusade to fire KP, you can't count on the replacement being better. Now learn to live with it. (Or just keep crying.)

Well you know each year only one team wins the finals. Everybody else fell short. Every team that fell short, and the team that won it all, will try to get better in years between to reach that goal. But until the teams find better players to fill the positions of need, they keep what they have and move forward the best they can.

I guess I'm still a bit burned about not getting Darren Collison, or seemingly not even being at all interested in him.
