Yes! A center with championship experience. Love it. Had to happen. Can't be having Dante Cunnigham playing center I'm a regular season game if Camby goes down.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Solid signing. As I noted in a previous thread, I'd have preferred Dampier, but I don't even know if he'd have signed here. Oberto is a good add.

(commenting on an earlier post) I don't think this means anything for Pendergraph, it probably means they have a trade they're thinking of doing.

Not sure who they should/could/would trade though.

Also, I don't know about you, but that 1 game has convinced me that his 35 year old body is going to dominate! Don't h8!!!

    Back to the trade concept.

It would seem that Mills, Rudy and Bayless are good trade able assets. Joel might be, and Andre is. But I don't think they're going to trade Joel, because he does have an expiring contract. It could get a better player later on instead of now. Or considering our 5 spot isn't terribly healthy, why get rid of one of them (unless you're trading for a healthier younger better player)?

Oberto is a crafty veteran who knows all the dirty tricks. A hustle guy. Good addition.

But would we sign him before we have a trade in place?

Well, I will say one thing, I think I'd trust a broken down Oberto more than I would have trusted Pendergraph to pick up spot minutes at the five. Beyond that? Meh.

So a turnover prone, offensively limited, athletically done backup 4/5?

    How can this go wrong?

Good. One less player I have to worry about getting in a gun fight in the locker room!

Quick reportedly just texted in to 95.5: Pendy waived.

Sucks that he had to get injured. Hopefully he'll bounce back next year.

I wanted Oberto, but if it means waiving Patty AND Pendergraph, probably the two most well-liked good teammates on the Blazers... I dunno. I really hope there's a trade, because nothing tells a team "it's just a business" than something like that. But somehow I doubt it.

I hope this organization still has a modicum of humanity and allow JP to rehab using the Blazers resources.

Well on the plus side for Jeff, the rest of his contract was fully guaranteed, and there's going to be a lockout next year anyway ... so if they really want him I suppose they could pick him up as a free agent when the league starts up again, but damn, that's a whole lot of "ifs" and "maybes"

Seconded, with feeling. Didn't Barrett or Wheels say he was going to be a regular guest? Maybe he can be hired as a broadcaster for this year?
