Just wanted to update those of you who are in. There's no money on the line but I figured I'd make it interesting with some little meaningless trophies you can win (some you might not want).

Let me know if you guys have any other suggestions.

ps. remember it's all in good fun.

I'm glad you waited to have the draft until after my surgery, I was afraid I was gonna be in the hospital during the big day.

Also, it let things play out a little bit. Some numb nuts would've ended up drafting Mike Miller higher than they were supposed to.

Is this league already completely set and full?

I have played the last couple of years with people from here and bbb.net and would love to again. I just got a late start.....

Anyways, I would love to join this or another league of S2'ers if there is still an opening.

very disapointed in the autopick draft. takes a lot of the fun away from it.

I sent out an e-mail. I had to go with autopick because not everyone was going to be able to take part in the draft before the start of the regular season and if your draft isn't full of players the thing never initiates.

I've taken part in dozens of live drafts where only half the people showed.

Sorry, the league is already at 16, which is pretty close to the limit of the amount of people you want to have. Mostly because with 15 man rosters that's 240 players drafted

I was looking at the rules and it said something about not initiating until the draft room is full? If we can get the draft to start I'm happy with doing the auction draft with a mostly full crew of players ...

    EDIT:
If I get enough responses via pm, then It's not too late to change the format and the time. Would Sunday afternoon PST (tomorrow) work for people?

You may not want to edit anything this late in the game. You'll get 75% of the folks to show up (which is the standard). There are always going to be a handful that preset their rankings and go spend the weekends with their families and make their rosters work through trades.

I do know if you change draft times hours before the draft, your league will fall apart because the bulk of that 75% that WILL show up but have plans tomorrow will withdraw from the league and then you'll have unevent divisions and won't be able to draft on time on Sunday - which will then cause another 4-5 people to withdraw. So that is a path you never want to go down.

I just want feedback. Whatever is least onerous, least lame and most fun for the most amount of people. If changing the draft time is a problem I won't, if changing the format (again) is a problem I won't. I'm perfectly happy going with the autopick route because you can rank all of the players in the league how you see fit and if there are guys you really, really want it's not too difficult to put them at the top of the list (outside of the consensus superstar players anyway).

Let me know what you guys want to do, this isn't a dictatorship.

Personally I would really recommend a live draft even if not everyone can make it. An autopick draft is basically like a live draft with everyone on autopick, its just not fun. I feel like even though you can edit your draft order, you still have minimal control over the team you end up with in autopick. In a live draft you can actually have some strategy behind your picks and work off of what everyone else is doing.

Alright, I've got several votes for a live auction draft. would 8 pm EST work tomorrow? The draft will probably take a couple of hours to complete. Do we want to push this off until next weekend? It's not like we have to be in perfect lock-step with the start of the regular season (though I would prefer it).

That means if you have your league set for 16 teams, and only 15 people have joined before the draft time, the draft won't start. As long as all the slots are filled, the draft will start, whether all 16 are there or 0 are there.
