Interestingly... Neither Taj nor Hinrich were drafted in our 8 team fantasy league draft tonight.

8 x 15 = 120. Neither player was in our top 120 players, or top 25% of the league. In fact, there are a few other guys undrafted who'd have gone ahead of them, too. Perhaps quite a few.

Anyhow, I do like Taj fine. I'm not sure he has much upside, but as a backup PF who can hit the midrange J at 41% clip, he gives the Bulls the option of pick and roll or pick and pop, unlike a guy like Asik. Though if Asik pans out, the Bulls playing twin towers makes sense if they're not going to have consistent 3pt threats on the court.

Go ahead and laugh now. It'll just take away your ability to laugh later.

It's probably my best pick . . . because I wasn't paying attention and the computer picked for me.

He can fill up the stat sheet. I don't think you got a bad player for your team.

Here's a follow up on Taj from Sam that might melt even a FatJerry's heart:

Taj was a plus at OKC. Glad to know, I guess, that it wasn't his health that was bugging him.

What about the heralded rookie? James Johnson? He actually played decently in spurts for us in the preseason.

Hey FJ! Care to revisit your opinion of Taj? :-)

He may be going to be the bench, but he's going to be in the rotation, or he'll be traded.

Taj has performed a creditable job and props to him for that.

I still don't believe he's a game changer just a role playing guy out there performing his role and doing it well.

His rebounding rate and his propensity to foul concern me

The other thing that irritates me ( non basketball related ) is how Bulls nerds overrate him. Its embarrasing.

I'm still trying to get past some blog fool that has his own little geeky that stated that Taj may have more value than Noah.

Its probably stuff like this that makes me react as strongly as what I do in my Taj touch ups...not hating the player just the game !

I still believe Asik is a game changer. James Johnson too - both of whom should be integral parts of our 2nd unit with Korver and Brewer and a vet back up point guard like Chris Duhon.

If we could deal Taj and CJ + our draft pick + the Hornets draft pick for OJ Mayo ....I'd be all over it.

Same deal - minus our pick andthe Charlotte pick for Marcus Thornton and Jason Smith and a $3M to $4M expiring contract the Hornets want to dump to get under the luxury tax limit and which we could absorb with our remaining cap space

That's the ticket. If we don't really need him, then let's use him to get what we do need. He should never be sitting on the bench.
