Portland should destroy this pathetic team tonight. Regardless of the style they play

I agree, I just meant we have Stern and the refs... I mean... Vegas odds behind us.

No Javie can't be a bad thing.

Now if they can figure out a way to get rid of the single worst ref in the NBA, Violet Palmer, I will jump for joy

They almost did. They promoted her to a manager, so she rarely officiates games now.

I think it will tell us a lot. Our starting five is used to each other so unlike other teams that are still trying to sort out chemistry issues we should be clicking. I'm very excited to see Fernandez and Mathews. If they can mesh with the different combos we will start strong. If not this is going to be a bumpy start.

Also this is one of those cases where a win just isn't enough for me. I want a dominating effort, even without our bigs. Two-possession leads for the majority of the game is what I'm expecting, at the very least.

So we must be "lucky" she is doing our opener?

I have a feeling this is going to be a lot closer than it should be, I find it hard to believe that after such a lackluster pre-season that this bunch is going to have much chemistry or cohesiveness out of the gate. I do take some comfort that we play a team in even more disarry and somehow so pathetic up front that laMarcus looks like Tim Duncan compared to them.

famous last words I'm sure. We'll probably get run off the floor now that I've said all this.

    Their frontcourt is atrocious!

I just hope LMA doesn't puss out and settle for his little step-back jumpers.

If we lose this game, the season is lost.

Good thing the game is at the RG. We took care of biz at our house during the pre-season. Its not like the Suns had an awesome preseas either.

"Jim Clark, Jack Nies and Luis Grillo retired last year after working a combined 73 seasons and 287 playoff games. This year, Joe Forte, Joe DeRosa, Sean Corbin and Phil Robinson retired. They had worked a combined 72 seasons and 299 playoff games. "

WTF, no Dick Bavetta??? He's worked about 73 seasons all by himself. The guy used to be a decent ref, back in the 50s, but now suffers from more and more inexplicable "senior moment" calls. He needs to go.
