Re: Carmelo Trades Yeah, I don't know where this fallacy got started, but it's always amusing, as people envision Paul as this uptempo guard that would clash horribly with Nate, as opposed to realizing he is a half court, pick and roll guard that would probably work awfully well. Who knows how he would work with Brandon. In before the all star game mention.
Re: Carmelo Trades Conversely, Roy doesn't work well with Miller. Roy needs to learn the game, then post.
Re: Carmelo Trades All pace factor indicates is pretty much how early you get your shot off in the shot clock since it basically measures how many possessions you average per game. You can push the ball and still pull back and run the clock. Not a coincidence why some bad teams lead the league in pace factor every year. Last year 7/10 in the top 10 in pace didn't make the playoffs. Also have to realize the Hornets haven't had the best finishers on the break. That said, Paul hasn't been the ultimate push the ball PG although if you gave him different pieces I think that would change. I could just see Roy being left out though. Paul is indeed a PnR PG and he could turn Aldridge and Oden into all-stars. If Roy was a better off the ball player it might be different, but he just isn't. I just know Miller isn't the right guy. He's still really good and that's why everything still works but in the playoffs I'm just not sure.
Nuggets want Batum Nuggets Want Batum Not surprising. Is there anything we want that would work? Personally, after the way he started I can't see it. Carmello wants to end up a Net. Harris is likely the only one moving. I don't want Harris alone for Batum. Harris to N.O. and Paul to Portland? That would only save N.O. some money and not really any long term.
Re: Carmelo Trades I just don't like much that NY has, and if the Nets aren't interested in trading Harris, that pretty much crosses them off too.
Re: Carmelo Trades I agree. Looking at their roster and I'm just not impressed. Their 'best' young prospect is Gallinari and his skill set is rather limited outside his three-point shot. Kind of like a young Hedo Turkoglu without the passing skills.
Re: Nuggets want Batum CP3 to Portland Carmello to NYK Batum and Curry (expiring) to Denver Gallinari, Joel and Andre to N.O. [plus filler to balance talent] works on the trade checker.
Re: Nuggets want Batum I agree. Not much else we need but a top PG. You have to be able to stop the other team's best wing players. Everyone wants him for a reason.
Re: Nuggets want Batum NJ is interesting. Chad Ford reported that Portland did offer LMA for Favors and Harris this summer. Obviously it was rejected by NJ but we did/do have interest in Favors.
Re: Nuggets want Batum if we do Batum (and not that I would be complaining at all) But we HAVE to keep Rudy (at least for this season) then to have any form of firepower off the bench. Assuming Wes would slide into the starting 3 spot.
Re: Nuggets want Batum I think you would have to work Harris into the deal for NO, to start. Go Blazers
Re: Nuggets want Batum Nets weren't part of this scheme. You could add draft picks or other young prospects to make it work for N.O. I'm just not sure what they would want. I'm guessing E. Williams and draft picks?
Re: Nuggets want Batum http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=253try2 This is the only trade I can come up with that nets us (no pun intended) CP3. We give up a lot, and so does NJ. Not sure if it would happen. If we trade Batum, I'm not sure who would play SF. CP3/Johnson/Mills Roy/Matthews/Williams ??/Babbitt Aldridge/Cunningham Camby/Oden/Oberto
Re: Nuggets want Batum What kind of contract will Batum command next year? Scary to think of some of the offers he could recieve . . . or is that in two years?
