So you wouldn't do a trade for Favors/Harris that included Batum? Adding Favors could make LMA expendable so we could trade him for a small forward like Gerald Wallace.

I want Favors but not at the price of Batum.

Okay, but if you're adding Harris, Favors, and Wallace for Batum and Aldridge?

    Your starting five would be:

    Harris
    Roy
    Wallace
    Favors
    Camby (until oden comes back)

It's a tough one. Favors could be special. I love Batum...but I'd probably close my eyes and push the button.

The only way I trade Batum without feeling dirty is if it were in some kind of Chris Paul deal.

Holy shit... I just made the worst three point shooting starting five in the league.

The only thing I don't like is that it would leave us very thin at the three. We'd have to move Aldridge (or someone else) for a three like Gerald Wallace (if we could get him).

I would, as I said in the other thread. This is getting confusing...I should merge them.

    Re: Carmelo Trades

    Yeah I saw that

I'm not saying Cho would do it, or even if NJ/Den would go for it. Dealing Favors AND Harris really leaves NJ thin. I don't know if Lopez/Melo is really enough to get it done, and I'm not sure where else they would be getting talent from other than the draft. Plus, Batum and expirings might not be enough to get Melo (although it really should be). Either way, I think I would do it. I like Batum a lot, but swingmen are pretty easy to come by, and I would love to have a player of Favors' caliber on this team. Plus, it would make Aldridge expendable and we could maybe move him for someone like Gerald Wallace.

I'd almost feel better doing Favors and Harris for LMA than for Batum.

Almost? I'd feel much better doing that. That puts a highly talented young or young-prime player at every position. Aldridge + Favors is a bit of a waste. Also, I think Batum has a higher upside than Aldridge, big versus small notwithstanding.

Yeah, but I don't see why they would do that... the whole point is getting them Melo, and unless Denver wants LMA, I don't think that trade would happen.

    Re: Carmelo Trades

    Since we're reaching here...

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=24s43df

Gives us Nash and Troy Murphy, PHX#1 for LMA, Miller and Joel.
DEN gets LMA, Przy, Terrence Williams and NJN #1
    NJN gets Melo and Miller
PHX gets Harris and Favors for Nash.

We help 2 conference rivals start to rebuild (not great), DEN and NJN get pretty good pieces back and younger, we get some experience, toughness and a major contender for a year or two. But we keep our draft picks, get well under lux tax, and can run Nash/Roy/Batum/Murphy/Camby with Wes and Oden (when he gets back) and DC filling out the rotation.

I think I'd rather have Favors and Harris than Nash. I like what Nash does, I think he's a great point guard, but I'm not 100% sure he would push us over the top. He doesn't exactly fit into Nate's "system".

Hmm....perhaps the Blazers are trying to help this deal along, simply to severely weaken a top divisional and conference rival. But it would be sweet if we could somehow land Brook Lopez.

    Harris/Aldridge/1st to Denver
    Anthony to NJ
Lopez + cap fillers to Portland

If Oden returns, Lopez can play PF twin towers next to him.

Or if they really want Batum and Favors
    Lopez to Portland
    Batum/Favors to Denver
    Anthony to NJ.

I'd really hate to lose Batum, but Lopez would be very tempting

If Lopez was getting traded, Denver isn't going to let him go to us for Aldridge or Batum.

There's no way they trade Lopez. That's just not happening.

I dont care ... call me a homer or crazy, i dont care, but there 2 only people I would trade Batum for in these scenarios: Chris Paul and Carmello Anthony and neither one of those trades are going to happen. I like Harris but not for Batum. And this isnt about me thinking Batum is worth those 2 talent wise but I honestly believe that he will continue to develop and he is that very important glue guy that all chanmpionship teams need. So Im not willing to give him for other potential talent or borderline stars. I dont want to give him unless I am getting a bonafide superstar in return and that is not going to happen so in my opinion he is just about untouchable for that reason.

NJ has come out and said multiple times that Lopez is untouchable and their is a very good reason why that his. If anything the Nets are just trying to get a few picks from us because I really doubt we would give up Batum especially not just for Harris. No way Denver is gonna trade Carmello to NJ without getting favors so that really just leaves us Harris, unless of course we are trying for Billups and we get rid of Andre/1 first, NO first, and our trade exception to bring him in.

I think Denver is expecting too much if they think they're getting Batum AND Favors while Melo has them over a barrel.
