What's with those Hornets? 3-0 is something only RoyToy might've predicted. And they just beat the Spurs at home. Kudos to Monty Williams, I guess. And Dell Demps for NOT trading Chris Paul. Who I guess is pretty good. Is this just because people started calling Deron Williams the best PG in the NBA? (Bayless has yet to contribute much, though, it must be said.)
Of course, getting traded right after training camp is about as bad timing as you can get. So, I expect JB to suck less later.
3.6% of the season is over... They could still be one of the worst 5 teams or the best 5 teams. I think it is ridiculous to try to project where the pick will be right now..
It's hard to say with Paul. It's not like the team that he took to the playoffs a couple years back was that great either. Personally I think he made West and Chandler into All-Star caliber players. He's that good.
I hope not. But Chris Paul is the best PG in the NBA and he has a better supporting cast than last year with the additions of players like Ariza and Bellinelli, not to mention David West, who is still a very good PF. So I think it's possible that the Hornets can be top 10 in the league. If CP3 stays healthy (and happy), NO will be a pretty good team.
Top 10 in the West is one thing. To draft in the 20's you have to have a top 10 team in the entire league.
Watching the Hornets/Heat game, it's fun to see a team play defense and have their star give up the ball for a wide open 3 as the game comes down to the wire. Monte has them playing very well. Up by 3 with 7 seconds left
They're playing good. But, I'm not sold yet. That bench is waaaay to weak for them to be a serious contender.
