A young Augmon would destroy Outlaw...

He couldn't score though, even while working hard.

But I don't want to see an old Augmon... I want to see a young Augmon and Travis from 08-09.

That would be a bit one-sided. On offense, Outlaw was young Augmon with a shot, but young Augmon played great defense. The great defense trumps the better shooting.

Besides, you said "THAT team had Augmon." They didn't have a young Augmon. :)

What like Travis Outlaw could stop a Jr. High School player from scoring? Augmon averaged almost 14 points a game for the first 5 years of his career. Travis has only averaged that like once in his whole career. After that Augmon became primarily a defensive specialist.

If you read my posts, you'll see I'm talking about the Blazers' edition of Augmon, not the Atlanta version. As a Blazer he averaged between 3-6 PPG on terrible efficiency. Yes, he couldn't score.

Pacing his efficiency, too. ;) "I'll shoot at a terrible percentage so that I can maintain it the whole season! Don't want to burn out."

    My favorite Outlaw highlight!

They used to show that commercial all the time during Blazer games a few years back and for some reason it always made me think of Outlaw.

Outlaw would be lucky to have that much coordination.

Thats nice. I am pretty sure that Augmon didn't forget how to play basketball during that time period. He just wasn't asked to score as much with that team.

I know this comes as a big shock to you, but players often get worse as they get older. I know you think Drexler would still be a superstar in the NBA today (after all, did he forget how to play basketball? He's not old enough to have suffered memory loss!) but I am sad to inform you that he wouldn't be. He's not the player he once was. And neither was Augmon through most of his Portland stint.

That might be a good point if he was just not scoring much...but he was also a horribly inefficient scorer on the shots he did take. That's actually pretty hard to do, since players who take few shots generally only take the easiest opportunities and thus convert them at a pretty good rate. The fact that Augmon still couldn't score efficiently shows he was just a terrible scorer at that point.
