Barfo made a Lupus joke yesterday. That's fine, but I let him know afterward that I have a 7 year-old with a preliminary Lupus diagnosis. I open up a thread this morning to see barfo "joking" about Lupus again, and this time related to death. I can only assume that he did it to get a rise out of me, which is fine, but I take issue with him using Lupus as a "joke" the next chance he got after me letting him know about my daughter. I don't find it funny, and I find mocking posters for illnesses that their children look to have distasteful at best, and sick-minded at worst. If I could ignore the guy I would, but unfortunately, somehow this sick guy is a "Producer", and I have to read his crap, because I find 99% of the other posters here fun to engage, debate, or agree with when talking about the Blazers.

As for Seth MacFarlane and "LALupus Lady", that's well and good. I just found it douchey for barfo, someone that I communicate with, to make light of a very serious illness when he KNEW that my daughter sees both a nephrologist and a rheumatologist for what is wrong with her.

That's all. If I am overreacting, it is only because barfo knowingly brought my daughter into whatever imagined beef he has with me. I'm still pissed about it, and when I tried to PM him, all I got back were snarky insults about "taking him off of my XMas card list."

Fuck it. Karma is a bitch. Slamming a poster is fine, hell, I do it quite often, but I found what he posted to be over the line. If I am in a minority in that view, I'm completely fine with that, because I would never mock his kids the day after he let me know about a serious illness that one of them may have.

 

I think we all know kids are off-limits. Serious illness usually is, too... but when it's kids, there's really no two ways about it. I agree with you, but I'm new, so I'm sure nobody gives half a fuck of what I think, and that's fine by me!

 

It's fine. I know who he is now, and that's really a plus for my blood pressure when trying to deal with this disease as a parent. This place is an escape, or was at least.

Let's talk about the Blazers! Sounds like Roy is starting tonight. Will anybody be watching any other player on the court?

 

I'll be watching Wes Matthews, because his welcome is wearing thin as he continues to do nothing of what we paid for.

Oh, and I'm also watching L.A. as he continues to work on a post game, which makes em very happy.

 

Actually, about Matthews, it seems he is suffering ENTIRELY from the 3-point. Every other stat is where it should be, but his 3-point % is 17 points from where it should be, and his overall field goal percentage is down 6 points.

I notice that he seems to be shooting a lot of threes where he looks to be off-balance. He looks as if he just needs to take his time to get his feet set and squared up on the shot.
