This has come very full circle. I'm pretty sure NateBishop is the one he warned to stay away from his family over that whole airsoft gun incident. Now BGrantFan is giving NateBishop his personal information and inviting NateBishop to meet him and his daughter. I think they call this the circle of life.

Barfo: I am not going to launch into a big lecture. I know your comment may have been made without any thought of BGrantFan or his family. OTOH, people's children should be off limits, and there is no shame in saying "I'm sorry."
My official opinion is that the first lupus joke was perfectly fine and the second one was in poor taste and unnecessary. I do think an apology is in order. Maybe it's just me.
Indeed, I was not commenting on his family; my post had nothing to do with BGrantFan at all. So, I am sorry if he interpreted anything I said as an attack on his family; it wasn't my intent. barfo
Just reading throught his thread, I can tell barfo is not trying to be a dick or a coward. Jokes are made, some of them hit closer to home than others. But as a message board I feel some people need to be less serious about it. However, I read that BGfan told Barfo about his daughter and her condition (Which I'm sorry to hear about, but I'm sure you're a strong family) and he made a joke, while not directly. I still can see how it offends you, and for that I'm sure barfo is more sorry. I think this thread should be put to rest and we move on. Stuff like this never really gets better, IMHO anyway. Just my 2 cents
barfo made the joke based on a TV show. Unless I missed it, I thought it wasn't because he knew anything about bg's family, or his daughter. So to expect him to apologize over the "joke", which wasn't directed at his daughter or anything, is incredibly stupid. Given the history of the poster, which now seems evident that it's papag, I think it becomes clear that he is trying to make something big out of something small. Could his daughter have lupus? Sure, she could. But if it's true that he (barfo) did know that information and then he made the joke anyways, bgfan has the right to be offended. But it seems that he made the joke to make fun of the show House and the leap in logic used in that thread. If bgfan had informed barfo of his daughters illness, the behavior of barfo would have warranted an apology. Otherwise it's the faux outrage that you see on Bill O'reilly and Keith Olbermanns show. Or like when a certain poster freaked out because I said "Blame Bush" and accused me of making a Polish joke and ranted and raved about me being racist against Polish people for a good 2 days. I'm not saying bgfan pulled this out of his ass like that poster did, but the behavior that followed makes one think that it could potentially have come from some region south of the Mason Dixon line. Continually calling someone a coward on here, and explain to people that you gave your name and number, and you wanted to meet him so he can make the joke (about House...something lost in the "argument") is tantamount to asking someone publicly if they have finally stopped beating their wife. I could be wrong and barfo knew. But nothing in barfo's history shows him to be a jack-ass like that. He mocks political points and certain behaviors of poster types, but he doesn't take personal information and use it to make someone feel bad about themselves.

I thought the first mention of lupus was funny, but the second one baiting and insensitive. However, all this coward and "meet me for dinner so I can show you lupus" crap is far too much. This is a basketball forum. We are not going to all get along. Talk it out on the board.
