OK, AZ at home (a tough game, but we will be rested and healthy and at home) and an OSU team that has given up. I think we have a 95+% chance of winning out. So who do we play? Frankly, with Alabama looming and an SEC championship game, I think Auburn will lose. Granted, they have gotten better as the season has gone on, but I don't see them as a dominant team. We'll get back to them in a moment. That leaves TCU and Cupcake State U as the other undefeated teams in the country. I think it safe to say they will win out with the tomato cans they play against, so who will it be? To me, it'll be either Auburn with one loss or TCU. Between those, I'll say Auburn as they are an SEC team and just as LSU did a few years ago, there is no way the NCAA will not have an SEC team with one loss not in the title game. So I'm planning on an Oregon v. Auburn championship game. I am soooooooooooo pumped!!
Now, stop it!! This is what being a fan is all about!! It was around this time last year I was planning my trip to Pasadena, and I'm already planning my trip to Glendale. If it doesn't happen, it wasn't due to me planning, and I'll readjust my plans accordingly. Bowls: Hate to say it... I think Oregon and Boise St play on Jan 10th. I think Auburn will play in the Sugar after losing to Bama and TCU will play in the Orange Bowl. This weekend we have some good games - Fresno State, who is playing good ball, heads to Boise St. and Ohio State and Iowa square off. I cannot wait to see Stanford destroy Cal. I hope it's such a slaughter, that Tedford has to throw his players under the bus, again. Go Ducks!
If we play Boise State, I like our chances, but I also think it will lessen the accomplishment. The "experts" will say that we won the championship only because we played a weaker opponent from a weaker conference.
works for me... I just want a championship! I dont think the Spurs mind when they won in the shortened lockout season, and I wouldnt have minded if the Blazers beat them in the WCF lol.
And we'll still have to hear Boise fans proclaim, "We beat you two out of three...we're better..." I could be way off, but I don't see us losing at home to AZ. AZ has lost their last two and was demolished on the road against Stanford. Their pass defense is not good. Foles is good, but over-throws when rushed. Oregon State looks like they've given up... Still, anything could happen! Maybe Auburn runs the table and we square off. Maybe...Oregon drops one of the last two and ends up in Pasadena. It wouldn't hurt my feelings, but it would be the season of, 'what could have been.' So, this is about the time I normally begin making bowl plans. I've been going to most of Oregons bowls dating back to '97 Vegas Bowl. Can't recall ever changing plans and hopefully this isn't a FIRST!! GO DUCKS!!
let them say they beat us 2 of 3 lol. I will gladly give any team 2 wins in in the regular season 2 years prior if it means winning a national title in the 3rd year lol.
I know it's fun to pick on Boise, but with how bad the PAC is this season, they might not play an easier schedule than Oregon. Besides, I think Cal watched about a zillion hours of their defensive game plan against us last year, and probably gave Arizona and the pathetic Beavers the idea to put a QB spy on Oregon, and load the box.
I'm confident that Kelly will adjust his game plan accordingly. What we need is a decent screen pass. We've got the backs to execute it.
I dont think that AZ or OSU have the front 7 to emulate what Cal did. They have pieces but front 7 for Cal is very formidable and has depth IMO.
I dunno.... Arizona won all three out of conference games, including against #9 Iowa ASU won two and lost by one point to #7 Wisconsin Cal won two - lost to Nevada Oregon is just Oregon (SEC) Beavs beat Louisville Stanford 3-0 - Notre Dame, WF UCLA beat a the ranked Houston and Texas USC 3-0 - Virginia, Minnesota and Hawaii Even the Huskies beat Syracuse Is the Pac really that bad? I don't thinks so...
