Is it just me or did Lacob put a picture of himself circa 1980 on there? Its a cool gesture though. Now beers will "only" cost like $6? Wonder if he'll say anything before the game (pretty sure he will) and what he'll say. I'll probably miss it so if anyone watches or is there then give me a recap.
Adrien in and we go on a 13-2 run. Man we're a lot better at home. Beans SCORING and made a FT. Austin Daye can fuggin shoot.
Ah shit I can't see what LAcob is saying as the stream I've got is NBA TV (goes to random images during commercial breaks). Seems like it'll probably be up on CSN Bay Area's website though.
Damn Monta had 21 in the 1st Q. Adrien had 2 pts and 3 stl in 5 min Steph with a steal and an and-1 to open the 2nd. Another steal another and-1 but for Dorell this time.
Monta getting to the FT line a lot. Dorell uses pump fakes very well, gets a lot of guys to jump at his fakes and gets FTs from jumpshots. Had a nice drive along the baseline too.
Carney had a 6'11 high jump in high school according to Barnett. Dude can jump over Beans lol. We're shooting really well. Nice to see Reggie hit a few 3's in a row.
Two weeks of Vlad/BW is kind of scary, hopefully Lee's elbow will be fine right away. I'd rather just throw out Adrien. Oh well, we're winning this one, on the strength of Monta/Curry.
Highlights: D. Wright had an excellent floor game. B. Wright didn't play and appropriately so- Adrien and Gadz are producing.
BW got a DNP-CD last night. Even with limited games and relatively little talent compared to Wright, Adrien and Gadz just have more of an impact. Gadz has the big body but he really reminds me of Foyle out there as far as coordination and skill goes- but hes also got the raw energy and constant effort. He got 11 rebounds last night, at least 3 were on one play where he kept missing and getting his own shot but even if you call it 8 reb thats still great production for 12 minutes of play. Even if he is the second coming of Foyle, people forget that Foyle was a pretty decent backup C for a long time. Adrien looks much more like a basketball player in terms of poise, skill, coordination and he still produces despite being literally less than 6'6. Wright has the body, athleticism, and skill to have an impact on games but he just doesn't want it enough. Gadz and Adrien have their warts and are at times awkward fits next to Biedrins due to lack of offensive skill but Wright is almost forcing us to go with the players who give us any production at all. Vlad made a few plays last night but still flubbed his fair share. He should continue to focus on passing the ball.
I never thought I'd say this phrase, but he's less coordinated and skilled than Foyle. He looked ok yesterday, but I wouldn't expect that from a guy that loppy consistently. Anyone know when Amundson is scheduled to return. Vlad is even more painful to watch than Gadz. Adrien is really starting to grow on me though. I like his game.
According to Adam Lauridsen's tweet: Amundson update, per Riley yesterday: bone in finger was shattered, currently 8 pins in it; in game shape but a few weeks away on the hand.
Dorell actually had a few dunks this game... he was also one of the most calming presences on the court... in control, relaxed, making plays... It was fun to see Jeremy Lin's crossover for the finish, but he also had some bad turnovers and missed shots (including an airball three) that helped Det get back in it.. Bad Vlad is so terrible man... I just don't get it... Didn't he shoot an airball three from the corner as well? Terrible defense, terrible hands, he had one nice dribble drive and dish, but it's fool's gold when you can't do the basic staple fundamentals of your position like box out, rebound, and finish around the basket. The dude reminds me of Dunleavy in that regard... 6'9" forward who gets abused on the block by a guard like Rodney Stuckey...
Dorrell had an excellent floor game las night. Beautiful glue guy/do-it-all performance. Very smooth and steady and gave us a little bit of everything. BTW I love that Smart started using him at PF. Its not ideal but given our circumstances small ball definitely makes some sense until the bigs get healthy again. Hes just as big as Vlad, certainly more equipped to play PF with solid rebounding and athleticism and 10 times the player.
