I got the number from this site, they're usually pretty accurate but I'm not 100% http://hoopshype.com/salaries/portland.htm
I don't get it. How did it get damaged again? WTF Blazers? And even if it never healed during the summer, we couldn't have done this sooner?
This is a huge dissappointment...I am finally accepting the idea of closing the door on the Greg Oden era in Portland. I don't blame Greg, he's just a young kid who happened to be taken with the number one pick. I'd love it if he was able to wear a Blazer jersey one day as a healthy center, but I now accept that is just likely won't happen. Probably the worse part of all this is certain members of the forum will think they were right about Greg being a bum, or it being his fault. Anyone that allows this to affect their Blazer fandom needs to find a new team....find a different bandwagon.
ya gotta wonder, can one team have this much bad luck or is our training/med staff partially to blame?
It's puzzling to me that a less than two weeks ago, the Laker announcers were speaking about how good Greg looked (and expected his return shortly) and now he is likely done as (at the very least) a Blazer.
This is tough man! What a blow to our team. Hope they make sure Joel is absolutely ready to come back!
I tried to look back and find where I said it, but I told some of you that Oden is to injury prone and won't do anything. I can't find it cause there is like 104932084 threads. Though, I did say it and will keep looking to prove a point. It sucks to lose a number 1 pick, the one on my team isn't any better. But I know some of you think Oden is the massiah. He isn't nor will he ever be a legitimate NBA player. Proof is in the pudding.
Agree. It's not Greg's fault he's a giant of a man and was dealt bad knees. The average fan is gonna be down on Greg and thats the exact opposite of what we should do. The guy has got to be about as down in the dumps as an athelete can be right now. He needs our support. You're a fool if you think he wanted his career to go down this path.
I blame it on barfo bringing up lupus twice, which my oldest daughter has. That, and the guy clearly doesn't even post about the Blazers and lives in the OT forum. Things have gone downhill since last week, and he's my scapegoat. I'm superstitious like that.
That was the same time when Freeman reported that Oden wasn't practicing, and people mocked him for extending the timeline that was never a timeline because of what the Laker announcers had reported. Perhaps Freeman was correct?
Two MF surgeries.... Fractured patella that's not related to this latest injury... How can anyone, including Greg, have any kind of hope? I'm trying to find a silver lining but I'm coming up short. It'll be an interesting time until the trade deadline.
Hoopshype has his qualifying offer at 8.78 million. http://hoopshype.com/salaries/portland.htm The only way he returns is as a UFA, unless the new CBA changes the rules. This sucks. Now what? Year after year of drafting around pick #15 and wallowing in mediocrity?
