If a coach keeps losing, he gets replaced. Not because he's incompetent, but because the team just needs a change. If a trainer keeps losing, we keep him forever because--he's competent and liked. A change can't hurt--make one! I don't care whether it's mindless. Just try someone else.
Just heard this take on the MSP a few minutes ago, and it makes sense. Assistant coaches get replaced all the time, just like how Nate reconfigured his staff this summer. GMs get the axe, and coaches of the year even get the pink slip the following season. It's tough seeing Jay and the training staff get piled on, and you could see it was wearing on him in the PC last night. But a change just to get a different philosophy/different voice in there probably wouldn't hurt.
