This deserved its own thread. I think this is awesome.
I don't think that speech is about rings at all. It is about working hard on your game. I see that as a response to Allen Iverson or something. He's a failure on the court, doesn't like practice, he's all about his cool hair and points. That commercial is about kids who think the NBA is about scoring points and nothing else. Not someone who makes his teammates better, and has the vision you don't see in other scorers (Durant). Before Michael had any rings he was still better than 3-peat Kobe, or Kobe of the past two years. People are misguided. LeBron is the only player in the NBA that can rival Jordan, if he plays long enough at that Cleveland level.
Lebron is not the leader that Jordan was. Jordan would light a fire under his teammates ass when they weren't performing well. Jordan pissed them off but they respected him. Lebron's teammates seem like they like him but it's like James is the rockstar. You don't see Lebron ride his teammates like Jordan, Kobe or Garnette.
Well it just says a lot about the NBA when everyone's current hero sucked in the Finals but still won. Team sport at the end of the day. Reality sucks, but Kobe only played well against the Suns a soft defense. He sucks against elite defenses. http://www.basketball-reference.com/blog/?p=7079 Jordan was ringless until Scottie entered his prime years. Then he left and his team won 55 games. Face it, it has nothing to do with leadership. Jordan was better than everyone, and finally got help. Kobe plays at a lower level in the playoffs. LeBron is only 25 and will retire with a better resume. And KG blows in the playoffs, please don't even criticize James then cause that's hypocritical.
How is that hypocritical? Do you agree that Jordan was a better leader than James? I could use your argument and say it has noting to do with play-off performance. Lebron(Great Play-off Performer/Poor Leader) = 0 rings Garnette, Bryant, Jordan (Poor Play-off Performers/Great Leaders) = 12 rings I agree that these guys didn't get their rings until they had roster to support them. Miami will give Lebron the chance to show that he can be a champion when surrounded by the best talent in the league.
Is that an official commercial? Like, on TV and shit? Because if it is, holy fuck, MJ just made LeBitch, his bitch.
I didn't figure it was real because Jordan and LeBron are both Nike, so I don't think they would allow that kind of feud to go public through their own commercials... but it's eerie how well that commercial mashups with LeBronze....
Please, KG has one of the worst WS/48 in the post-season, and got swept 7 years in a row in the first round. Kobe has two rings, those are Shaq's 3 rings. Kobe was a 42% jumpshooter getting carried by Shaq in the 3-peat. Shaq was averaging 36 points on 58% shooting a night when Kobe was off in the Finals. Second would be, ok Jordan was a poor leader before his six titles? Lol no, he owned Kobe then and he owns him now. Alright I'll agree with you here. LeBron and Wade have terrible chemistry, but, it is still early in the season. A lot can still happen.
