It also mentions taking more threes than ever before. Not sure anyone wants more jumpers.

They also didn't have to fire their coach for it to happen....

So that being said, what is it, if anything that triggered San Antonio to increase their pace a little more?

Open 3 pointers are different than contested jump shots as the shot clock winds to zero

They have a coach that was capable of seeing it would benefit them?

Maybe. But then again, maybe the team just changed their motel to a holiday inn!

    They sure are.

    18 is different than 74.

Are we just switching this thread to name things that are different.

I am not a fan of Nates coaching style.

I would prefer the team be coached differently. And I believe it will soon be time to make a change in that direction.

Having said that though the last thing I would accuse him of is not paying attention. Stubborn, yes. Ignorant or disconnected, No. I respect him and appreciate the work he has done to restore credibility to this franchise. I am glad he has been our coach, and when the time comes for him to leave part of me will be sorry to see him go.

Even though his style of play is not what I want to see this team run, its only fair to mention he has been remarkably effective through adversity and one has to wonder what things would have been like if he'd been dealt a roster full of healthy players. And its a darn shame that again this season we get hammered with injuries.

Healthy Tony Parker, Manu Ginoboli and Tim Duncan. That's what happened to the Spurs.

You give Portland a healthy Brandon Roy, Greg Oden and Joel, and I suspect the record would be better.

Agreed. I'm not a Nate-basher. I was just wondering if he is noting the success the Spurs are having with the new up-tempo game and whether it might give him pause to consider if the Blazers might be improved by a similar change in style.

I think a fast paced offense is almost going to be mandatory in another half-year or so, and it's not because it will impact the wins and losses column for this team, with it so depleted of top end talent and depth, it's because they're going to need something to sell tickets with.

The team could get away with grinding wins the last few years because everybody can enjoy year over year improvement and winning whatever it looks like, but a snail's pace lottery team? That's going to be a tough sell.

Isn't that what we did during Nate's first year? That was a lottery team.

NO, NO, NO, to be on this forum you must blame Nate for everything. He made Roy's, Joel's and Oden's knees bad.
