Yep. Have mom's in my kid's playgroup driving BMW's that also get food stamps. They are also the kids getting every new play toy fad that comes out. Not feeling sorry for them while I am shopping at the Goodwill or rummage sales while putting that saved money in my kid's college funds.

I know so many people on unemployment just CHILLIN'. They aren't doing shit. They just go on vacations and hang out all day. Eat out at restaurants. Some are on unemployment and are in school (don't know how they're doing that) Go to Disneyland. Maybe send a resume out per day. Its good to have a deadline. 2 years is more than sufficient for fucks sake.

I think after two years of unemployment benefits, you should have to give up citizenship and an illegal gets it. Guessing Mexico and Central America would not go for that trade though.

Since the government, in your mind, can solve and fix all problems, you don't need to defend yourself. The government will do it for you.

I thought this was done to appease pedophiles and gays? Are you saying that they are all in cahoots with the man?

    Those sneaky bastards!

Nice economy we had going back then.

Things are a little different now.

If by "many of them" you mean much less than 1% you're probably right.

To pretend that 95% of the population "got exactly what they deserved" while the uber-wealthy architects of the "recession" continue to profit from it is naive and insulting.

I don't know where you got that misinformation from, but that's not my view at all.

It is my view that a loyal, honest government of the people could certainly solve and fix all problems it was constructed to fix and solve. Why not? Seems simple enough.

But it is also my view that our current government representatives are but an impotent herd of mostly slow-witted egomaniac puppets, whose strings are pulled by very wealthy, very bad people who do not have our (American Citizens) best interests at heart. The DHS is their spearhead. Civil war/rebellion/uprising is what they want. It is part of the plan. It's their excuse. We've been set up. They prepared the camps and "destroyed" the economy and when the riots start they'll round you up and take everything you have.

Of course, it might not happen that way. But I think it's clear that's what's happened up to this point. It's obvious DHS is all about controlling the American populace, and the terrorist angle is a sophmoric diversion/justification.

Or the people may rise up and be too tough to overthrow.

I'm mainly interested in if any of you are ready. For whatever.

If someone (criminal or soldier) kicks in your door, can you deal with it and come out alive?

If your neighborhood/city becomes unlivable/unsafe do you have an initial "escape to" destination?

Most of you are young enough that it's likely you'll have to deal with all these scenarios at some point in your life.

    Good to be prepared.

I ride my bike to work 2 miles in the early morning. There's almost no traffic on the roads. I literally see at least 50 homeless people sleeping in the doorways of vacant storefronts and in parking garages.

Compared to two years ago when I'd see maybe 2 or 3.

Sort of ironic that more than one of these homeless is in that position from buying too many houses during the real estate boom.

They did get what they deserved. They lived beyond their means and got fucked for it. Its really that cut and dry.

The American citizen nowadays is one who cannot think, is lazy and entitled. Has been for quite some time, its just time that it all caught up to them. They are corporate drones who buy corporate crap and shop at corporate stores and try to out do their neighbor. They spend their leisure time watching trash television and other people live life on TV instead of living it themselves. They have little shit kids running around whining all day and all night until they get what they want. America basically fell upon itself and its america's fault. Right down to the "average american".

    Repped.

MARIS61, is it also the 5% that made the majority of those 95% overweight?

I don't know if Americans deserve this, but there was a period of time that many were living well beyond their means. Somehow in this country, we went from a family where one person works and the family saves money for their children and their own retirement, to having a double income family with little time for children . . . while racking up debt!

Debt somehow became an accepted way of living in our society. There are many places you can point to to blame for this, but regardless, it is time for those who were living beyond thier means and racking up debt to live the old fashion way . . . earn it.

Nah, I expect it to be worse everywhere else. The closed stores are an indication that the tourism industry is sucking hard as well.
