There's also been talks that freelancers will take over a show every now and then to write the scripts. The plus side to that is seeing creative artistry, and the downside is seeing crap every now and then.

not quite sure how i feel.

So... the season finished with the CDC blowing up and a few people letting it take them with it. Most of the survivors have escaped back into Atlanta to resume their nomadic lifestyle.

AMC has optioned a second season but there is a report out that the cast has been contracted for multiple seasons. Sounds like they are going to continue on with this group while adding a few of the main characters from the comic.

Just as a preview for people enjoying the show who haven't read the comic, here are a couple of characters we're likely to meet in the second season, supposedly airing in the second half of 2011.

I've heard Tyreese being THE character everyone is speculating about. Who do you think they'll cast?

I love that they kept the Shane-Lori-Rick storyline open for the next season.

And whats the plot for the next season? Just riding around from city-to-city?

And it sucks we have to wait until October 2011 for the 2nd season. That's one hell of a gap.

Supposedly they have already cast a guy with a serial killer name, Keith Allen Hayes.

If they go back to the source material, they will wind up either at a farm or a prison next. Either way they should be leaving Atlanta behind and going rural.

    Thats shitty casting.

Would have been fucking badass if they got Chiwetel Ejiofor but thats a pipedream.

^ I was thinking of a bigger guy, Chad Coleman from The Wire.

Funny, cause he was my 2nd choice.

But Chiwetel could act circles around him so thats why I went with him.

I am speculating that this has more to do with Kirkman than anything else, he's stated before that he never wanted to go into how the Zombie apocalypse came to be and the show totally went that direction towards the end of the first season, that is unless he wrote those episodes then iam totally wrong..i dont know though i didnt pay attention to the credits.

^ Interesting point. Could be the case.

Also, TWD closed the season with record-breaking ratings for the channel (AMC) at six-million viewers. TWD's ratings are double that of Mad Men, the channel's premier show. TWD is the most watched drama series in basic cable history in the 18-49 demo, which is basically the cash money crowd.
