Who would you be willing to part with to get him? I think if we bring him in we definitely need to let go of either Roy (not likely), Batum, or Matthews because the 2/3 spot would be way too cluttered.

I'd love to get Iggy and lose Roy, but as you said, it's not likely. I don't see why any team would want Roy right now. I would keep Matthews over Batum.

The thing is, I think we need a new #1 and I'm not convinced that Iggy could be that guy. He used to have that potential, but it seems like he's shown over the last couple seasons that he's a good player, but not a #1. I suspect if you have problems with Aldridge, you'd also be annoyed with Iggy.

With that said, I'm not against adding him. I just think we should be looking at options for a new #1, because Roy aint it.

I don't think there's any legit #1 option available on the trade market aside from Melo, who will only sign with the Knicks. Iggy is the best of the rest in terms of names mentioned as available in the press.

That being said, I'd add Iggy just to move Roy to the bench. A Matthews/Iguodala combo will defend and attack the rim and give consistent efforts every night.

I don't want to see any changes on the court until we get a new offensive philosophy. A player like Iggy would shrivel up and die in an offense that is built to stand around and wait until Roy is through trying to create for himself. If a new coach, or even Nate had us moving more on offense, then Iggy would be a great addition, and I would trade pretty much anyone to get him.

An Iggy trade would at least put Roy on the bench and, hopefully, make this team get creative in the starting unit. With the slow pace at which this organization makes any decisions, I'm not hopeful that we will see both a coaching change and a major trade during this season.

Matthews or Batum and plus Pryz would be my hypothetical. (And a pick or young player) If Philly wants to get rid of him, there is a reason. He is good but has deficiencies. But as Roy's game moves to the outside, we need someone attacking the rim. He certainly fits that role.

I don't think Nate will be fired anytime soon, unfortunately.

Bringing in a career 17 PER player does what in terms of winning? You're whining nonstop about Aldridge having a career-worst 16.7 PER this season, and your big idea is to bring in a 17 PER veteran and have him be a #1 option? :biglaugh:

Why not just trade for the entire starting line-up from the 2008-09 76ers? You're already 40% there with Miller and Iggy.

If there's no #1 option on the market, you have to go for the best available. That's Iggy right now.

BTW his 16.68 PER this season is really close to Wes Matthews 16.89. He's a total stat stuffer in the box score and defends extremely well. I'll that that.

I don't either. Too many Seattle people associated with the team that think the world of Mr Sonic

You're pretty good at using the internet... I'd bet you could find the Iggy rumors.

heres what i cant tell ya......

chos trading skills are below average... maybe worse then kpees.... so expecting a trade that improves us is like expecting roy to look like he is 22 with good knees. not gonna happen.

He's only had a few months to do anything... that's not much time to work. Don't you think you're being a little hard on the guy?

Aren't you all being a little too hard on Roy and the all time best blazer ever Batum?

    This board cracks me up.

You act like I'm set in stone that I want Iguodala. I'm really just asking the board who we would give up if we wanted to get him.

His 17 PER is only half of his game though, he's also a great defender and brings a different dimension to our team in that he can do just about anything.

Here's a required reading for you:

With Nic and Wes I really think we should look elsewhere to upgrade. SG and SF long-term for this team is already in good hands.

There are many things to adddress with this team, but this is not one of them. Iggy is not a primary scorer carry your team guy. Iggy is a complimentary scorer. Since we do not have a primary scorer now, this move would be useless.

All of the moves that will make the Blazers better will involve one of the following:

    1. Obtaining a backup PF, who does all the things a backup PF should do. Rebound and set screens.
    2. Pick up a backup PG who doesn't stink themselves out of the league.
