Some old guy came up to me at the gym and said, "you don't look as strong as you used to". I was kind of shocked at first, then replied, "yea, 4 surgeries will do that to you". Seriously, who says that to someone?
anyway, going to try to start going. was going to go tonight but left all my shit at home. excuses, excuses. Need to ease into it, damn achillies.
I stretch out a little bit before lifting. Probably not as much as I should. Lots of weight lifting fundamentals books out there. One of the most important thing to avoiding nagging injuries and joint problems is worrying about lifting with good form. As far as working out and learning new things, I watch and read a lot of stuff that Charles Glass has out. That guy knows his shit and basically cuts out all of the nonsense stuff that people think is important, but really isn't I wanna smoke a bowl with this guy.
Nah, I hardly stretch unless it's my cardio day. Had a good back work-out today, talked to a couple of ladies...
I just played ball today.. But I grabbed the rim with ease. I've only ever been able to barely touch it, and not consistently. I'm proud of myself! lol
Didnt get to the gym until late and knew that getting my normal weight work was going to be impossible. Just did alittle sauna and hot tub before leaving. Also bowl on Monday nights and bowled probably my best series ever. Needed a 246 the last game to get a long desired 700 series. Would have had it if not for leaving the 9 pin three times in a row on one lane. Threw three perfect shots and was killing the other lane. Cost me 60 pins, but still finished with a 673. Monday might be my new resting day.
So its been 2 and half weeks since I started lifting again and I'm seeing ridiculous strides already. Muscle memory is a beautiful thing!
first time in the gym in like 2 months last night. good to get in the groove. light lifting and some cardio. gotta take it slow.
