    So much James hate in this thread. Wow.

    The guy has dedicated his life to playing basketball, and that he unaware of the meaning of the word "contraction" isn't shocking to me. There are a lot of words that I might know that other people do not, so maybe I'm just used to not judging too much based on vocabulary.

    That he would prefer to have the same number of teams but with more concentrated star power is actually a worse idea than contraction, but whatever.

    Well that's kind of dumb, because in his original comment he tried to have it both ways. "Not saying let's take New Jersey and let's take Minnesota out of the league. But hey, you guys are not stupid, I'm not stupid, it would be great for the league." He was being PC at the end of his original statement.

    His retraction was that he never said the word "contraction," because he didn't know what the word meant. No, instead he said the NBA should "shrink" the league and get rid of the worst teams. Apparently, he knows what "shrinkage" is.
