Cho says an extended period. Let the firesale begin. That's the news the blazers have been waiting for according to Ken Berger on trading vets. They are handling Roy the same way they did oden. Very vague with no info yetbevery update seems worse.
Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy out "indefinitely" because of pain in both knees. Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy will sidelined indefinitely because of soreness in both knees, general manager Rich Cho said. “I can tell you it will most likely be for an extended period,’’ Cho said. Cho said the team has discussed shutting Roy down for the season, but they are not ready to go that route yet. “We’ve talked about (ending his season) and it’s a possibility, but we want to explore a couple of other things first,’’ Cho said. Cho said the team is still in the information-gathering stages of those other options, but he hopes to have more answers and a direction by next week. This is Roy’s second stint on the sidelines because of his knees. On Nov. 13, he took himself out of the game in New Orleans in the third quarter complaining of left knee soreness. He missed the next three games, returning on Nov. 26 at home to score 27 points against New Orleans. He last played on Dec. 15 in Dallas, when he scored four points in 30 minutes. Tonight will be his seventh consecutive game missed and 10th overall this season. The Blazers are 6-3 when Roy hasn’t played.
Yep, time to try to move Camby-Przy-Miller and perhaps a few other in combo trade if we can get solid value. makes mo sense not to do this
They had better get a pg or center(s) back or else we will be the worse team in the league without those guys
Is more rest going to help? How do you fix something that isn't there to fix? Is this the first move in a Roy medical retirement scenario? Do I ask a lot of questions?
I agree they have to get a PG back if they trade Miller. Technically they could get a long PF back if they trade Camby or Joel. (and Move LMA to center) Iguodalla would be the best option. They could get by with their rookie PG's for a year if needed to include Miller. What is AI doing this winter/spring?
The season has been over for quite some time, at least in terms of expectations from the summer. You're just figuring it out today?
Iguodala would be a great 2nd option on offense. Even if LMA is the first option on a title team, which I do not believe to be the case, that leaves the Blazers with no valid options in terms of contending for a title, barring some sort of Oden miracle. The Blazers' future looks like bleak right now.
Status Cho is probably still crunching numbers on the Gilbert Arenas/Rashard Lewis trade, how the Blazers would have been affected had they entered the trade, and what can be learned from the virtual results.
Steve Duin wrote a story where he all but admitted "I have nothing but a hunch." I'm not sure that gets elevated all the way to "rumor" status.
Assuming we trade miller and camby and get back picks or Eric mayor types... We will be the worst team in NBA
