You have envy issues, don't you? You need to deal with the fact that even though I am negative, I know basketball.
You should put me on ignore then, instead of getting in these petty arguments and taking stupid shots at me. We are all just here to have fun, and if ou aren't ignore me
I really haven't seen any proof of this claim. Your repetitive "Ass Clown" mantra seems trollish, IMO. It pretty much kills your BBIQ credibility, at least in my eyes.
Wesley Matthews is here to defend, to hustle his butt off and to score. I don't expect him to get assists, and don't care when he doesn't as long as he's doing two of the three previous things. It won't happen EVERY game, but it has in a lot so far, and I've been happy with it.
He's got a little bit of chucker to his game, but I never feel like he's being a ball-stopper (well, not much anyway) and his hustle on D and ability to run a one man fast break does a pretty nice job of countering the negatives about his game. Then again, he's only a second year player, so maybe he's still got a little bit of room to grow ... but probably not a ton given his age.
Dude is obviously a chucker and a ball hog. Look what he's doing to Utah? I bet they wouldn't want him on their team. Not at all.
I think the point of this thread is not (necessarily) that Wesley is a ballhog, but that one cannot call Roy a ballhog without recognizing Matthews as one, too. Ed O.
Matthews doesn't handle the ball nearly as much as Roy used to, Usage % only measures the number of possessions used, not the total time with the ball in ones hands. Last year Roy was only assisted on 33% of his scores and this year on 39% of his scores, whereas Matthews is being assisted on 71% of his scores this year with the Blazers, with the ball in his hands significantly less time per possession I'm not surprised he doesn't rack up more assists. Roy was/is considered a bit of a ballhog because he would get the ball on the perimeter and stop the offense with his ISO's or just dribbling away before pulling up and having the ball that long while watching his teammates move or penetrating with the dribble and kicking it to catch and shoot players lends itself to getting a lot more assists, Matthews is more of a catch and shoot or catch and finish player and I know I don't consider his knack for getting open and taking good looks without pounding the ball 'ballhogging'.
Or, Roy's isolation style of play drew in more defenders leading to more kickouts for open shots. Matthews isn't a ballhog. Not everything is black and white.
Matthews is a ballhog. I don't think that is a bad thing, though. He's just not a very productive ballhog, at least in terms of PER.
As far as I'm concerned, a "chucker" is someone who shoots more than his scoring efficiency suggests he should. Players like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James shoot a lot, but aren't chuckers, because they should be taking a ton of shots. Based on that, I don't think Matthews is a chucker. His efficiency is quite good for the amount he scores, which suggests he's not taking more shots than he should.
Good for him! Roy points without Roy passing. I'll take it! Also, are you sure you should be a mod? You seem to do nothing mod-worthy.
