So I figured I'd make one of these like on the Blazers forum. How long have you been a fan? Who is your current favorite player? Offense: Defense: Who is your all time favorite player? Offense: Defense: What is your all time favorite moment? When was your first game at Autzen?
How long have you been a fan?: I started watching Ducks Football in 94 when I was 8.. call me a bandwagoner I guess Who is your current favorite player?: Offense: wow this one is tough... Kenjon Barner is electric, LaMichael is Lamichael, I love Tuinei...DT is great. Can I just say Jordan Holmes cause I love his handlebar mustache? Defense: I love how Lokembo, Kaddu, and Clay play. Boyett is just fun to watch. Cliff Harris is electrifying. Cant forget Matthews and Spencer Paysinger. Who is your all time favorite player?: Offense: Wow... Ed Dickson maybe? oh yeah J-Stew, Rueben Droughns, I wasnt around for Bobby Moore though. Defense: Patrick Chung probably, although I have soft spots in my heart for Walter Thurmond, J Byrd, Ngata, and TJ Wards hit on Robinson in the Holiday Bowl 08 made him a legend in my mind. What is your all time favorite moment? : I was young for "The Pick" but I remember how crazy Matthew Harpers pick was in 07 vs SC. When was your first game at Autzen?: I didnt get to attend my first game unti 07 against Washington State. Jeremiah Johnson tore his ACL and Cam Colvin broke his ankle that game IIRC.
How long have you been a fan?: I started being a Duck fan when I was around 15 years old maybe a litle younger. I was a fan of the Oregon basketball teams in the Far West Classic starting before Stan Love, Doug Little were playing for the Ducks. I went to the UO after getting out of the service in late 60's early 70's and started being a Duck Football fan then. I have had Ducks football season tickets for a long time. Who is your current favorite player?: Current favorites are tough I like almost all of them but on offense Barner, James and Thomas almost equal. On defense I like Boyettt maybe a little better then most but there are a lot of defensive players that I really like. Who is your all time favorite player?: There are a ton of all time favorites but these probably are my top: Dan Fouts, Bill Musgrave, Bobby Moore, Joey Harrington and Mel Renfro. What is your all time favorite moment? : "The Pick" is my favorite and it still gives me chills when I watch it at Autzen. When was your first game at Autzen?: I can't remember the date but some time in the late 60's.
oh I really like your idea Tortimer, I'm gonna edit the favorite players questions to both Offense and Defense! Thanks
How long have you been a fan? Since age 5 Who is your current favorite player? I like Jeff Maehl. He gets a lot out of the abilities God gifted him. Who is your all time favorite player? I went to school a bit with his son, so I will say Mel Renfro What is your all time favorite moment? It's either the pick or the 2002 Fiesta Bowl against Colorado when we shut down their running game When was your first game at Autzen? October 27th 1973 vs Washington. Oregon killed them 58-0
How long have you been a fan? My first memories of being a Duck fan were from the Rose Bowl season with Rich Brooks, Rickey Whittle, Tony Graziani, etc. I think I was in 8th grade. That's when I REALLY got interested in football. Who is your current favorite player? Offense: Probably Jeff Maehl. I love watching our running game, but I think Maehl is one of the main reasons why this team is undefeated. The guy is solid. Defense: Cliff Harris. What can I say... I love watching the guy play, and I can appreciate his brash style because he reminds me of Reggie Miller a bit (in personality obviously). Who is your all time favorite player? Offense: Ugh... this is a tough one. Possibly Joey Harrington. He was a great leader. I'd say it's either Harrington or Droughns. Defense: Chad Cota. Either Cota or Rashad Bauman. I liked Bauman because the guy was a lockdown defender, but he wasn't the biggest athlete. He was just good at what he did. What is your all time favorite moment? This game was insane to watch. I thought we had the "L" and then.... BAM! When was your first game at Autzen? My first game was this year actually, against UCLA
How long have you been a fan? Since early 80's. Who is your current favorite player? Offense: Mark Asper, not flashy, just a total work-horse and anchor. He's a class act on and off the field and I appreciate a lot about him. Defense: Tough call. Have to go with Casey Matthews. Love the guys fire and style (MLB's are near and dear because this was my former position in HS). Who is your all time favorite player? Offense: So many greats. I must go with Joey Harrington, because my sister married his cousin. He's fam! Defense: Scott Kozak -LB great and family friend. His time at Oregon was great for us because he roomed with my brother for several years and as a grade schooler, getting access to the facilities and games was pretty sweet. He was just a nice guy too. What is your all time favorite moment? 2002 Fiesta Bowl was huge. 1997 LV Bowl was awesome. But, my all-time favorite is probably Wheaton's "The Pick" as a fan, you just felt this was bigger than just one play and a big win, and it marked a turning in the UO program. When was your first game at Autzen? I believe it was around 1981 when I first started going to games. I think Oregon won 2 games that year!! It's possible it was 1982, but I specifically remember it was nearly a shutout to Arizona State. I remember this because as a kid, I couldn't understand how anyone could root for the "devils". HA! Still don't! This is a great thread and neat to see the real old-timers, the medium guys and newer fans all sharing the same brotherhood! Go Ducks! **I also remember a specific USC or UCLA game in the late 90's (sorry, the drinking days) when Oregon was down huge to a heavily favored team. I was estimate 60% of the fans left and Autzen was hardly full to start. My friends and I moved seats and were some of the loudest fans. Oregon had a valiant 4th Q and ended up winning in 2 or 3 OT. Another sweet game was 2003, hosting Michigan. Enjoyed a great game with a good group of buddies - including Ed O. That was the loudest I have ever heard Autzen - so loud, it physically hurt in my chest and head. Have had several sideline passes for Civil War games, and each time Oregon has won. It's great to chat with the players and cheerleaders.**
How long have you been a fan? First memory is Akili Smith in the civil war when I chose sides. I picked the ducks. so Mid-to-late 90s I think. Who is your current favorite player? Offense: Barner Defense: Boyd probably... this one is hard. I like the whole D. Who is your all time favorite player? Offense: J-Stew probably Defense: Ngata, Thurmond, Byrd What is your all time favorite moment? Kneel down during the 2010 civil war
So I figured I'd make one of these like on the Blazers forum. How long have you been a fan? 1994. I was in high school and didn't really think much about any sport that wasn't a pro sport or a high school sport. Washington had a national title a few years before, and they were the team to beat. When Oregon beat them, my history teacher made a big deal out of it and posted the sports page in our classroom. I started watching them after that. Who is your current favorite player? Who is your all time favorite player? I don't usually pick favorite players. They're a team, and that's why they're so good. If they win the national title, I'm naming my next kid Darron LaMichael Kenjon Remene Jeff DJ Lavasier Josh Jordan Cliff Kenny Spencer Casey etc. etc. etc. [Last Name]. What is your all time favorite moment? So far... 1. Getting #1 the first time. After all those years of being good but not great, finally being the center of the CFB world was huge. 2. Getting into the Natty. After smashing the Beavs dreams the last couple of years, I was worried about retribution. Watching the Duck eat Tostitos in a lawn chair. 3. Coming back against Stanford after being down 21-3, especially since they were the school that kept the Ducks from being undefeated in 2001. 4. Crushing Colorado in the Fiesta Bowl after getting ripped off by the BCS. 5. Going to the Rose Bowl twice. Honorable Mention: 9-0 in the Pac-10. Winning at LA Memorial Coliseum. Winning in the Big House. Winning at Neyland. Arguing with fans at Sportsline in 1998 before CFB was an SEC-centric universe. #2 in the BCS in 2007 with three cake games to go... (pre-Dixon injury). Every time a touted recruit commits. Dominating our rivals. When was your first game at Autzen? 2002 vs. Portland State, a 41-0 shutout. I remember watching Jared Siegel practice kicking FGs from 60 yards out because it was windy, then later that game he kicked a 59 yarder.
Trust me, I've sat through some pretty miserable games too. 11/16/2002 - sat in the POURING rain that came down sideways and the only thing worse than watching Oregon give up and lose 14-41 to UW, was watching my pregnant wife, drenched, shiver and just look at me with sad puppy-dog eyes. :/
My favorite game was the 98 Civil War. Best. Game. Ever.
How long have you been a fan?: Parents went there, grew up going and watching games since as long as I can remember! Who is your current favorite player?: Offense: Darren Thomas Defense: Cliff Harris Who is your all time favorite player?: Offense: Akili Smith, Jonathan Stewart Defense: Kenny Wheaton What is your all time favorite moment? The Pick When was your first game at Autzen? Can't remember who we played, but it was in either 1980 or 81
Hi! Beaver fan who roots for the Ducks when they arent playing the Beavs! I always pull for the Pac 10/12!
