I noticed that no one did three goggles tonight. I guess after both JR Smith and Deshawn Stevensom mocked them, they decided to put them away, at least for road games. So much for all the three goggles, and T-shirts, and the like. As much as I enjoyed it, I think it is time to put them away and get back on defense.
It was amusing for a minute, but it was only a matter of time until opposing players started mocking the gesture. I thought about starting a thread asking: "who will be the first player to do three goggles from an opposing team?" Never got around to it though.
I'm glad it's going away. You should only be permitted to do silly hand gestures about shooting threes if everybody doing it is shooting over 40%
I say keep 'em going. Anything that unites the team is ultimately good. Who cares what other teams do about it? If it distracts them into wasting energy mocking us, so much the better.
wow Maris and I agree lol. Seriously the JR Smith and Deshawn Stevenson are relevant enough to change something you do, is the day I respect Birdman and Lebron's Decision Special.
I'm pretty sure players do that when they hit a three with someone in their face. Kinda saying "A 3 in your eye"
I always thought holding up the 3 fingers and making the 'ok' hand gesture was Rudy's 3 point hand thing. I've always thought those things were stupid. Darius and Q-Rich made hand gestures stupid.
Any sort of jesture like this is cute the first time, but makes you look like an ass when you do it repeatedly - remember the Icky Shuffle? The first time he did it, it was spontaneous and fresh. The eighth time - and when they banned him from doing it in the end zone and he would do it along the sidelines, he looked like a self-centered ass. So yeah, ditch the 3 goggles. When you're paid millions of dollars to make open 3-pointers, don't act like you're doing anything extraordinary everytime you do your job and actually make one. BNM
Exactly, more fun = better. I also think using 3 goggles raises the intensity of the game. It is kind of a workaround to the excessive celebration rules in place.
So, if another team were the ones doing it, you wouldn't mock them relentlessly for stupidity? That's "you" as in everyone...
If the ThreeGoggles were about a player saying "Me" it would be pretty darned lame. But they're about players saying "Us."
