Bill Belichick > Any coach Manning's ever had. And this is the sport where coaching trumps talent. Plus, the Colts' D is overrated and laughable.
Belichick without Brady: 51-60 (1 postseason win) Belichick w/ Brady: 111-39 (14 postseason wins, 3 championships)
Oh, also: Colts defense in postseason (Manning as QB): 20 ppg allowed Patriots defense in postseason (Brady as QB): 19 ppg allowed
The Belichick in Cleveland is FAR different from the Belichick in New England. He went through huge growing pains with the Browns.Besides, no head coach ever does well in his overall stint with Cleveland. Not much else I can really say. Belichick and his ingenuity vaults him to top 3 coaches of all time status, respectfully.
Don't worry you're still right Authentiq. For example the Colts scored +5 expected points on Saturday because they only had 9 drives. Teams run on the Colts so their defenses benefit from the pace. Manning still outscores Brady. 1. Tell him to post Brady's record when he plays poorly. "I have looked this up too, which just reinforces the above stats : Brady is 5-3 in playoff games where the offense scores 21 points or less. (8/18 games) Manning, Marino, Elway, Montana and Young all have between 7 and 11 playoff games each where that has happened, accounting for between 1/3 to 2/3 of their playoff games individually. None of them has more than 2 playoff wins in those games compared to Brady's 5 wins" http://www.pro-football-reference.com/blog/?p=8328 Without 7 Defensive/Special return TDs included, Brady's offenses struggle more.
Belichick's superbowl teams had the weakest passing offenses in the playoffs for a dynasty. If or when Brady plays better in the playoffs I'll give him credit.
