Roy is still having pain and swelling in his knees. He is having the scope to see if there are burrs causing the problems or if it's arthritis. If after the knees are scoped and the swelling and pain go away then he will look into the meniscus replacement surgery. But if he still has some pain and swelling then he will know it is arthritis, that meniscus replacement surgery is not an option and then he will just have to suck it up and play.

This is mainly to relieve pain in his knees.

Unfortunately it will not bring back his explosiveness. The Roy we saw this earlier this year is what we'll likely see when he returns from this surgery, only in less pain.

What I read in Kerry Egger's column yesterday was that the doctor they consulted said it wasn't an option in Brandon's case. Have you read something different?

They are hoping it "might" help with the articular cartilage and bone area where there may be fragments or spurs that are causing some swelling and irritation - a near term bandaid at best IMO

This has to be it. I mean, there is no cartilage in his knee to scope! (what's the point?) I guess we hope it's bone spurs?

Its too bad that Silicone or a similar substance could work. I guess they haven't perfected the blown knees yet.
