Broussard said Knicks working on 3way with Grizz to get Melo and send Mayo to Denver. I'm sure Melo wants to be in the playoffs and compete this year, especially since there may not be another playoffs till 2013, so if he's going to the Nets, they better get him there soon enough to rally them into the playoffs. Otherwise, he'll hold out for the Knicks.

I'm not gonna get involved in the Bitch Fest that has broken out here, but I would probably venture to guess that David "Cuz" Aldridge would have more contacts and "inside info" than Kenny Vance.

Prokhorov really seems determined to make a splash ... something tells me he's going to regret dumping favors for Carmelo when he fails to sign an extension with him.

He's a fool if he does not get that extension agreed to first

A fool or just very aggressive and willing to take massive risks. Look at it this way, that Nets team is going to suck ass if they don't trade for him as much as they will suck ass if they do and he bolts, but this at lest gives them a shot at a big name who can sell tickets. The real kick in the balls will be if Favors turns into the stud that many think he will in three years.

Yeah, but with a lot of capspace in the new CBA there may be some excellent bargains for teams with the cap room. IMO not a risk worth taking as even after melo how good will his team be? and will he have any room to add quality players? Unlikely with the salary he gets stuck with.

I see no chance he deals Favors without getting an extension on Melo. None.

If he doesn't re-sign, that team will be fucked for years to come!

Will Harris help us reach the magical "five games over .500"?

I don't think Prokhorov is interested in building a "bargain" team, he seems to want big names to help drum up interest when the team moves to Brooklyn. And really there's no telling how the cap will be handled in the next CBA ... and how likely is he to attract free agents any way when that team is so talent deficient? Trading for a "superstar" seems to be the best way to add one short of drafting one.

Eff that. Harris can't shoot. We don't need another PG that can't shoot.

we just disagree, IMO not having Melo agreeing to an extension and doing the trade as rumored is simply stupidity

There's just too much public talk about this deal. I don't think it gets done.

^ good point. Talked with one of our scouts on the last road trip and he said if a deal is leaked to the press it most likely won't happen.

There has been a very long history of the New York Media spouting about rumors for their teams that never happen. Most of them are creative thinking about who they would like to come to town to play for them, and everybody knows Carmello is from NY and their media has been enamored with him since high school.
