per Ken Goe's Twitter... Ludwig the Cal OC is going to SDSU... wonder if that will affect any Recruits... (Bigelow?)
just about every top athlete I've personally known or interacted with in HS and at UO has had an over-inflated ego. Having everyone around (friends, girls, coaches, etc...) fawning all over how great you are from an early age is probably a leading cause. My personal experiences are why I don't have illusions about various athletes being the great people off the court/field that they're portrayed to be. one glaring exception was Terrell Brandon. I guarded him in college pickup games a few times and though he'd just destroy, he always remained respectful and quiet towards me and the other players... really nice guy STOMP
lol couldnt hurt.. I do believe James will be gone after next season.. and Bigelow could RS this year. He would have 4 years of eligibility with no LMJ in front of him.
true... I just find it a little more common among WR's lol. Maybe thats moreso in the NFL that makes me think that way lol. And yeah, I never dealt personally with Terrell Brandon, but he just seemed like a great person. Thanks for that little story
The question had been raised in here.. not entirely sure where, but why Oregon isnt getting all the Huge recruits yet, since they played in the Natty. nice little tidbits on that here. Pete Carroll: http://www.thenewstribune.com/2011/01/23/1513585/the-gold-standard-of-college-football.html#
the Biggins quote is sort of odd as last year's class was probably their best ever (let alone 10 years) if judged from the outset, and this year's has leapfrogged that. I'm for this trend continuing and all, but... STOMP
So who's left that we are going after and how many more commits can we get on scholarship. I really want Delvon Simmons. Besides Lyerla he got the biggest boost from rankings from the Army AA game. We still don't know about Hamani Stevens and I really think he's the best DT target left. Heyward would be nice if we couldn't get Simmons. EDIT: After searching at DT one of the members wrote this.
I read recently that Stevens left on his 2 year mission in Oct. 2009 which would make it extremely unlikely he'd play next year. STOMP
Some guy over on Duckterritory says 8 out of 9 analysts are predicting Delvin Simmons to Oregon. Now he does not say which analysts or who they are affiliated with. Here's the quote from him.
Roderick Byers has a press conference scheduled for 1PM Pacific today with South Carolina, Georgia Tech & Oregon in the final three. Here is his Facebook status following an OV to Eugene last weekend "Feels good to be back home.... cuda stayed a whole month in that place... ahhh the lord is good!" STOMP
dang it didnt click in my head that we have 4 good WR recruits in this class. http://www.registerguard.com/csp/cm...1/ducks-oregon-defensive-class-linebacker.csp
true but usually most wont be making a huge impact this year, unless you are a JC transfer like Vaughn, or a freak like Julio Jones or something. I'd be looking more at the names of Cantu, Dungy, Lowe, Huff, Tuinei, Hoffman, and possible Hawkins at WR for help this year. (and Vaughn but I was naming off the people already here)
DE- Roderick Byers picks the Ducks. Scout says DT but I dunno about a Tackle just yet. http://oregon.scout.com/a.z?s=128&p...tedURL=http://oregon.scout.com/2/1042984.html
updated the original post to have commits. I dont think I missed anyone.. but wouldnt be the first time, if I did.
Not sure if this has been reported but a solid DT/DE commit. Is reported to have a frame capable of supporting 20 more pounds. Looks fast for a big guy: Roderick Byers Ht: 6-3 Wt: 262 40: 4.8 Position: DE Year: Class of 2011 High School: Northwestern HS (Rock Hill, SC) http://oregon.scout.com/PictureGallery.aspx?PlayerId=124550&Title=Roderick Byers
