Sweet -- he totally deserves it. I was a bit concerned that Griffin would get it because he had better numbers.
I thought I saw on one of your telecasts last year that Sheed was the last player to win the award before Brandon. I'm glad he won, but shocked Griffin didn't win. He had way better numbers.
Then why is it called player of the week? And it's not like the Clippers have sucked in that time they only lost once (to us) 31.5 14.5 vs 28.3 10.3
Not only was it the record, but LA totally dismantled Griffin in a head to head matchup. The stats don't say the whole story.
Because LaMarcus was the more effective player between the two, especially in their head-to-head matchup.
If so, that's ridiculous. I'm happy that Aldridge won, but it's not Griffin's fault that he's on a lousy team. If you put Griffin on the Blazers, and Aldridge on the Clippers, Griffin would have won.
Huh? Griffin had 18 rebounds to Aldridge's 8. He also had more assists and more steals. Aldridge had 28 points to Griffin's 20, but that's certainly not a "dismantling."
I think that if LMA hadn't dominated Griffin in a head-to-head game on national TV in the same week, Griffin would have won. I don't think we need to worry too much about Griffin though, I suspect he's going to win plenty of these awards in his career.
