With Rudy going 1 for 9 he can't get some run? With no legimate backup SF he can't get some run, we would just rather play a guard rather than him? Ridiculous. If Babbit was worth a fuck he would be on the floor.
Quick this morning on MSP jokingly intimated that drafting Babbitt was KP's parting shot at PA. Might be plausible, especially considering how PA treated KP at the end.
I would think if Bourne and Buchanan were involved, they would have stopped the pick if they thought he was that terrible. After all, they were both employed by the team at that point
Definitely. Hey Paul, how do you like this draft pick? Oh and were going to trade up for a two gimp kneed guard while were at it, and I am going to set up a deal to trade Jerryd Bayless for a bag of fucking popcorn, and leave the team with 2 scrubs at backup PG.
Is it? Dude can't even get any PT when we're running Nic and LA ragged every night, and with guys like Rudy going 1-10. Nate is hard on rookies and plays them sparingly, but not playing him at all is sort of an indication that he blows. Hard.
Babbitt over Bledsoe and Fields is looking atrocious right about now. Well, at least Claver is showing signs of life over in the ACB.
Babbitt showed signs of life in a lesser league also. 18/6 in the D league. I don't understand why Claver's numbers mean squat in Euro ball?
I agree with this . . . how bad does Nate think Babbit is for him not to get any run during times big men are dropping like flies. Marks gets more PT than Babbit, and you've seen the thread on Marks. Props to Little Alex for a solid analysis and more so for sticking to his opinion in the face of other posters and national writers suggesting Babbit was a steal or was a potential player to help immediately.
Bledsoe has a PER of 10.4, an Ortg of 94, and a Drtg of 109. He's atrocious right now. Plus, when Babbit was drafted, Bayless was still the backup PG. That Bayless was eventually traded away for nothing of value this season isn't Babbit's fault, is it? For a quick comparison, Patty Mills has a PER of 13.0, and Ortg of 101, and a Drtg of 109, while Armon Johnson has a PER of 8.4, and Ortg of 88, and a Drtg of 111. Both of those guys are comparable to Bledso (Mills is "better"), and both can be cut at any moment without worrying about their first-round contract.
I disagree with you. Bledsoe was horrible in the beginning of the season but has shown steady progress and has played much better the last few weeks. Unless Mills is scoring, he is a detriment to the team while on the floor. He can't defend, and he isn't a big assist guy. So if you get no offense out of him, you basically get a really bad defender out on the floor. You can spout all the stats you want. Stats only go so far.
The advanced stats say otherwise. Whether or not that holds in the future is of course up for debate, but as of now, Bledsoe is the lesser player on a cumulative basis, at least statistically. As do opinions. I do tend to take statistical evidence over uneducated opinions. I think Mills is the better player right now. Maybe that's incorrect as well, but stats do support it; team stats like Ortg and Drtg included. Offensive WS also show that MIlls is somewhat of a plus, while Bledsoe is a negative. Assist% also shows that Mills is a "better" passer than Bledsoe, albeit barely (26% to 25%). Bledsoe wins in per/36 assists (6.0 to 5.5). Bledsoe is a year younger than Mills, though, so that may change as he gets older. Plus, Mills' usage rate is too high for his production.
Canzano is on a warpath right now on the BFT about this draft. We were viciously "Pritchslapped" last summer.
Bledsoe has had a GameScore of over 10 one time in his last 20 games. In his first 20 NBA games, he had 6 double-digit GameScores and was starting. Maybe going to the bench because of Baron Davis screwed him up, but he was a much better player at the beginning of the season. He has regressed since roughly Game 22. The Clippers, conversely, are playing much better presently than they did with Bledsoe playing "well". http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/bledser01/gamelog/2011/
Yeah, I had higher hopes for Babbitt this season. However, I'm not going to rip him until I see him on the floor for extended minutes. It takes a few minutes to get into the flow of the game and even more time to develop chemistry with your teammates. He gets a run of only a few minutes and then he's yanked. He doesn't know when he's going in the game, with whom and for how long. Like mgb said, it's a little early to write him off.
meanwhile the guy taken immediately after him in the draft is hitting momentum killing 3s against us last night
KP's only good draft pick was Nicolas Batum and that was pushed onto him by Jason Filippi, the International scout. Freeland Koponen Oden Johnson Babbitt Elliot 'double knee surgery' Williams He's wasted A LOT of Paul's money. Why Larry Bird is asking for his opinion is beyond me.
Why Paul Allen would fire the guy who drafted LMA/Roy (Steve Patterson) and promote the guy who wanted Adam Morrison (Kevin Pritchard) is beyond me. Unless it didn't happen that way ... nah, couldn't be.
