Obama backed off of ObamaCare a bit and even said he was open to tort reform.

    LOL

Hey, let's rush though a shitty bill and then try to fix it a year later!

I'm glad he brought up the Bruce Randolph School. It's been highlighted here in Denver as the future of education. The teachers voted AGAINST unionization. Before that, the faculty voted to free itself from the regular rules and bureaucracy that regular Denver schools are subject to.

I'm glad that school is President Obama's vision of the future of education. I agree.

Yeah. The NEA, who gave Obama millions, is going to allow that to happen. I don't believe a word the guy says, because he's been saying the same things since 2008.

Exactly. One of his first moves was to cancel KIPP funding in DC while sending his kids to Sidwell Friends. Shameful.

Yeah. I take it you were being facetious in your post regarding your charter school in Denver? Heck, if Obama wants to reform education to allow school choice, even to non-unionized private schools, with a gov't subsidy, I'll applaud him. I just won't do so until he actually does it, because right now, I find it a near impossibility for him.

The guy is the definition of "just words". His foreign policy comments seemed an afterthought as well, from what I remember about them. Aren't US troops still fighting two wars, and the troops in Afghanistan are dying at record levels.

As an aside, it pained me to see Ron Wyden wearing an Auburn tie. But a bet is a bet.

WTF is the infatuation with high speed rail? It's hugely expensive and the next generation of air travel will be faster and cheaper. If this isn't the government picking winners and losers with our money, I don't know what is.

The suckiest seats in the house are Biden's and Boehner's. They have to impassively stare at the back of Obama's head for the entirety of the speech. They're a backdrop. I don't think I could do it. I'd have to look down to read the text of the speech, scan the gallery for hot chicks, scratch my nose or something else that would make me look bad.

LOL @ Obama trying to get Boehner to cry. He almost succeeded. The camera even went in for a closeup.

I may disagree with his policies, but President Obama is a smart politician.
