Sadly, I think Babbitt's fundamentals are the least of his problems. Offensively his polish is pretty good, but he's so slow ... I'm not sure what he can do to remedy that.
True. Speed & quickness cannot be learned. Nonetheless, maybe a limited reserve role as designated shooter could work.
I agree. Also note that a guy like larry Bird was slow as well, but made up for it in effort and basketball IQ. I don't think he will ever bethat good, or close to it, but hopefully a guy that can give you 15 minutes and 8 or so points while stretching the defense?
How can all these assumptions be made without really seeing him play meaningful minutes? Seriously, this kid is getting roasted by several on this board and some of the douchebags in the media and no one has really seen him play any meaningful minutes.... I mean, what a joke... I look at this as Nate being his usual jackass self towards rookies...and UNLIKE the PG position where he has little to choose from after Miller, he has PLENTY of options at SF (Batum, Matthews, Rudy, Cunningham) so he feels no need to play him, and it is not like POR has been blowing anyone out so Babbitt can get some extended playing time.... Can we at least watch the guy play some more meaningful minutes before we write him off as worthless for fuck's sake?
