What does lowering the size and scope of government have to do with the Tea Party?

Newest nominee for dumbest post of the year!

The primary lesson I've learned the past few days here is how little the liberal Democrats on this board actually know about politics in general, the positions held by their own party members, and what their "opponents" stand for on principle.

No it isn't. Joe Pitts is the sponsor of the bill. He's been a far-right/pro-life weirdo since 1997 in Congress. The Tea Party didn't even exist then.

As I was saying about the liberal Democrats knowing nothing...

    :)

Tea Partiers may not be social conservatives but many social conservatives are Tea Partiers.

On Social Issues, Tea Partiers Are Not Libertarians

What does that have to do with this bill? What is the Tea Party platform in terms of this bill?

What is a "self-identified" Tea Party member? How does one know what the Tea Party stands for?

What does this polling from "Public Religion" mean in terms of their own bias? What does this poll even mean?

Soliciting donations on their own website. I have to say, I had never heard of this polling organization prior to one of their polls being posted in this thread.

Symantics. It doesn't "exist" now either.

The Tea Party is majority base of the Republican Party and the Republican Party is the Tea Party's Party, since they're not an actual political party on their own merit.

Everything the Republican Party does is now driven by the Tea Party.

Pretending they are 2 separate Parties with the same representatives is disingenious and childish.

Frankly, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about, but I knew that already. Next time, at least try to make your nonsensical point in a coherent manner. :)

Not surprising for a guy who says "tells me all I need to know about" things while basing his opinions on the message from a single source.

Very true. In the political Venn Diagram there's certainly an overlap. However, it's ancillary. The core of the Tea Party movement has to do with reach of the Federal Government and the amount of debt that's being racked up for future generations.

One of the things that is so hard for those who don't identify with the Tea Party movement is that there's no leader, there's no broad platform. It's a big tent with the focus on only a few issues. In fact, the people who claim themselves as leading this movement are generally thought of as charlatans. Each Tea Partier speaks for him or herself and no one else.

Just thought this thread could use a balls joke to bring us all together, if only for a moment.

So many questions, such an inquisitive mind!

    1. See the thread title.

    2. They like it, but wish it restricted citizenship to Aryans.

    3. Someone with "TEA PARTEY" written backwards across their forehead with a black sharpie.

    4. Look up the words Hate, Greed, and Gullibility.

    5. Nothing, unless they were subjects of the poll.

    6. Try reading it. A 3rd grader could digest it's results.

In other words, you have run out of weak objections and never had a supportable arguement, so a weak personal attack is in order.

None of that is relevant in this rapidly changing world.

You can't define me. I'm as elusive as the wind.

If that were true they would have risen up under Reagan, Bush Sr, or Bush baby, the 3 most wasteful spenders of the American Presidency.

Unless they're just a bunch of easily-led, ignorant yahoos that Sarah Palin got all worked up.
