Mixum is Blazer Ken, nuff said. Funny story about Blazer Ken though, he lives at the same retirement community as my grandmother. He is pretty young though, and is certainly a Blazer fan. Kinda different though, and certainly not all there.
You fools, why the false controversy. I already announced yesterday that the season is over. http://sportstwo.com/threads/178633...-the-Blazers?p=2533856&viewfull=1#post2533856 No need to keep clucking about past events.
We moved from 9th to 7th place (predicted) in one day. Memphis moved up .3 of a win, Utah moved down .8, and we moved up .6. 44.2 Portland 44.1 Utah 44.0 Memphis http://www.coolstandings.com/basket...sn=2010&col=expw&sort=desc&run=1045&sim=s&v=c On the last day of the season, we will proudly boast of exactly 1 tenth of a win more than Utah, and 2 tenths more than Memphis. That's 4.8 minutes ahead. (I must add that I think Memphis will make the playoffs with us and Utah is out.)
Utah is in disarray right now. Not only did their coach quit on them, but so did their lead assistant. I feel bad that Sloan had to soil his legacy like this, but as a Blazer fan, I can't say that I am unhappy about it.
Not only did Utah lose at home, the home crowd was booing loudly in the 4th quarter and walking out before the game was over. Me thinks the fine folks in Salt Lake City aren't liking the post Jerry Sloan era, so far. BNM
Karl Malone disagrees http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/02/karl-malone-sloan-would-never-quit-anything.html
Sloan quit. A non-champion like Karl Malone is now spinning trying to spin it into something else. Sloan himself said it was his own decision, and it had nothing to do with players on this team. Meh EDIT - Reading further, it seems that Malone had his own loud arguments with Sloan. My guess is that Sloan, at age 68, just got tired of arguing with idiots, so he finally quit.
Don't mess with The Mailman
It was his own decision to take a hike because management told him if he didn't like their new way, to get lost. Does that meet the definition of being fired? It's like when they ask for your resignation as a dignified alternative to firing you.
That would be a neat story, but it's not at all what happened, at least according to Sloan and Jazz ownership/management. Try actually doing some research next time. Minstrel's meme on Sloan quitting was proven false by Sloan himself. I posted the quotes in another thread.
They were already in a tailspin while he was coaching. They had lost 10 of 14 games. Also, two seasons ago, they completely choked at the end of the season and fell to 8th. Sloan knew this team wasn't gonna miss the playoffs, so he jumped ship like cowardly losers do. If he was doing a better job of coaching and they were in the top 3 or 4, he'd still be coaching. I don't understand why they kept him around so long. Better coaches than him have been fired after just a few years. Anywhere else, he would've been fired a looooooooong time ago.
You're way behind the times, José -- the season ended weeks ago. The good news is that we have been playing well in the post-season! http://sportstwo.com/threads/178259-SPURS-BLAZERS-GAME-THREAD?p=2527574#post2527574
He's been holding them back for years. No telling what Stockton and Malone could have achieved without Sloan getting in their way.
