I believe it's the team doing the right thing - and keeping a good thing rolling - with more time to practice and to integrate him back into the lineup.

Exactly. The team is doing well, so there should be NO rush on either of these guys.

If we're going to make a splash in the postseason, we need them to help out, but for now? Let them get healthier and acclimated and let the current team keep on keeping on.

Given the state of Roy's knee, I don't think that slipping a couple of weeks is a big shock. With Camby? He's old and has a long history of injuries... hopefully he knows his body by now.

And, again: the team is playing great! Introducing more (even good) players might impact the on-court product, so I'm fine with them taking extra time to get well.

I agree with Ed and andalusian. Nate doesnt want to mess up they way the team is playing by bringing Roy and Camby back now. Let them get a few more practices in and work them back gradually.

I'd agree with that except that there's no practices over the All-Star break. That means that you're either bringing these guys back after a quick practice or two before the Laker game or else looking to push it out further. It would seem to me that bringing Brandon back tonight and letting him get a little run, knowing that he's got a week afterward before the next game if his knees do act up, would be a prudent thing to do. On the other hand, perhaps Cho is involved in trade discussions that involve one or both of these guys and doesn't want to risk an injury right now.

I hadn't thought of that, but I completely agree. While I'm not really impacted one way or the other about Roy not returning tonight, a "test drive", if you will, would seem like a positive thing if Roy were ready to go.

whenever guys get pushed back on the blazers.... it screams setback. this is typical blazer front office lingo for setback imo.

You think that after tonights game Nate's just gonna say "See ya guys Wed. morning for the Laker game!" ???
They'll probably practice Monday and Tuesday... and obviously Brandon/Camby can practice on their own to help get in game shape.

Depends, I guess. I know LMA is going to Dallas for a long weekend with his mom. I imagine he'll probably come back Monday. Who knows what the other guys are doing? A Tuesday am practice is probably best-case, then a shoot-around Wednesday am.

I haven't see one person say the season is over, unless they were mocking your silly statements.

I think it would be foolish to let Roy play tonight. By giving Roy playing time in a big game to test out how he is doing physically is putting Roy's needs in front of the teams, not a message I want to send to Roy or the team.

let the Blazers play out this streak. Bring back Roy after the all star break with limited minutes that doesn't sacfrice the idea of winning the game I would think is the goal.

Could you imagine if Roy suited up and was available to play and coach never felt there was a comfortable time to put him in the game . . . then 5 days for the media to run with all that. After the all star break, if Nate can't get Roy in the game or enough minutes, there is always another game a day away.

Isn't that what happened in Minnesota? I thought HCP posted that Roy was suited up in uniform for the game and was available?

Perhaps the media here isn't as reactionary as we've been led to believe.

I didn't hear that and don't get it.

So Roy was available against Minny and didn't play and now he is out against NO . . . maybe there was a set back.

I would not be surprised to see him dressed just in case, as he was in Minni. I think the issue is not the press - but Roy's state of mind - Nate does not want to tell him there is a chance - and not do it. He is much more likely to be fine with "Ruled out, you can dress if we absolutely need you - but I do not expect to play you" situation.

I don't see it that way. I see it as the franchise finally learning and not letting the inmates run the asylum, so to speak. The team is doing the right thing and not letting Roy push himself back too early. Camby has never hurried back from an injury after his first couple of seasons in the league.

I thought he was just out warming up and such but wasn't really available. At least that is how I took it anyhow.
