Rondo would not be as effective as he is now if he were not playing with 3-4 future HOFs. LA is carrying this team with average-above average talent, and no depth right now. LA over Rondo for sure.
You seem to say this EVERY FUCKING TIME one of your old bullshit threads are bummed just to prove you wrong. I mean, how many times have you posted "I wasn't the only one" 3 months after you make a thread? Don't you ever get tired of being completely wrong all the time?
But Aldridge wouldn't be as effective plaing with 3-4 future HOFers. he wasn't nearly as effective playing next to Roy for crying out loud
now factor in that the only three others who you said arguably might be as good as 25 year old LA (Amare Pau & Dirk) are 28 30 & 32 years old respectively. How about a look at their contracts? Using the salary link as reference at the top of the page, Aldridge is receiving 10.7M this year, Amare 17.6M, Pau 17.8M & Dirk 21.5M STOMP
Batum will never be anything much. He just isn't that good. There. Now he'll prove me wrong and become a franchise small forward.
Who gives a shit who started it? There is some interesting conversation (and tedious arguing back and forth) here. It's a good thread in my book. Ed O.
So he was granted mod status AFTER LA began to prove how preposterous that statement was? Wow, the standards around here really are low...
I am bambuzlled, befuddled and bewildered how Mixum is not a Mod then. Being a Mod in here is like being selected to the all-star game. It's not consistent what the criteria is.
Well since they are my words am I not entitled to clarify something when I maybe word something in a way that doesn't express exactly what I want to convey? The context of the whole thread started by Mixum is that he was playing like he didn't care, my contention is that it wasn't an effort deficiency, but a skill deficiency and almost all of the first four years of his career suggested that what we saw with Aldridge in those four years was about what we could expect going forward. I was (thankfully) wrong.
I've already said I was *Edited* on more than one occasion about LA; he's completely transformed himself ... But if people want to act like LaMarcus blowing up was somehow predictable, inevitable or even likely in year five, they're fooling themselves.
At the time the criticism was fair, he just wasn't that good. Then we found out that it was 4 years of Roy's ISO ball that was really holding him back.
For everybody who is gloating about this thread. Are any of you on record with the thought that Aldridge could be a #1 option and a top 3 type PF in the league? Nope.
I haven't looked at my contributions, so I could be mis-remembering... But I think my position had been that I hate LMA taking a majority of his shots from 15-23 feet, regardless of whether it was his preferred playing style, his role in the offense, etc. I didn't like how he'd be force-fed in the first quarter, get a quick 8 or 10 pts, and then end up with 16-18 in the game. I love the new, aggressive, high-TS% LMA that gets to the line even when his shot isn't falling. And whoever is responsible (LMA, Nate, Assistants, Hat Guy, me?) deserve a ton of credit and will get it from me. That said, until Dec 15 this year he played inconsistently and too far from the basket. Glad to see that's changed.
