    Also from that article:

Maybe KP has been unfairly criticized as loving his player too much?

Well forget this deal. Wojo says Denver/Nets in advance talks. Melo meeting with nets owner over weekend.

Favors, Harris, Murphy and 4 1st rounders for melo, billups, ely.

Unless we try to steal him from Denver this deal is dead.

    4 1st rounders? What, 2 from 2011 plus 2013 & 2015?

EDIT: Never mind--I forgot that they had traded for a couple more picks a couple months ago. Still--4 first rounders seems like a lot. I wonder if this ends up becoming a Herschel Walker-type of deal

Only way we could get Harris is if we hop in deal. That's possible since we were originally mentioned in this trade a month ago. Maybe keep miller and let Harris backup till next season? Nah prob not.

    Deals dead IMO

Denver already has their PGOTF (Lawson). If Cho really wanted to get in their for Harris, I bet he could. Of course, it would probably cost Batum, but...

My guess is that Denver would probably keep Harris if given the choice between only having Lawson and no real backup or using Harris for now as the starter and continuing to groom him for a starting role (say in a year or two).

Can a team trade 4 first-round draft picks in one deal? I know they can't in the NFL anymore, but wow, what a terrible move by New Jersey if it is allowed under the CBA. It will cripple their franchise for the next decade.

2011 NJ pick, 2011 Lakers pick, 2012 GS pick, and 2013 NJ pick. They're not all their picks included. Although, the only rule in the NBA is the successive years pick, and I believe something about the future years of a pick.

Miami traded away 3 of their own this offseason, 2011 and Toronto's own, I think, to Toronto, and then 2013 and 2015 to Cleveland. Something like that.

So if this goes down before the all-star game, does LaMarcus finally get in? I doubt the trade actually happens before the game though.

Miller > Harris, and is playing the best basketball of his remarkably consistent career. He could produce well for 4-5 more years.

The injury-prone Harris seems to already have peaked below his supposed potential, and is one injury away from being done.

There's a reason the Nets have placed him into every trade discussion they've had. They know him, and they don't want him. They don't see them helping in their goal of rebuilding for a contender.

I don't see him as anything more than a stupid risk for a mediocre guard.

Outlaw > Morrow, as is Rudy.

Given that the parties involved are just meeting this weekend, there's no way the deal is signed and approved by the League before the All-Star game. Melo will play for the West.

The Denver NJ deal still depends on Anthony wanting to do it; I doubt that will happen. I don't think the Blazers will (or should) take back Outlaw. I think they should only trade for Harris if the deal does not include Miller; I think Harris can be our backup PG and also play alongside Miller sometimes, he can be a combo guard, (although having two guys on the floor who can't shoot threes might be a problem, so now I am almost talking myself out of the trade). Would NJ be interested in Pryzbilla, Rudy and a choice of one of our backup point guards or a draft pick?
