Seriously, I've not heard one really good player named as a possible target since Cho was hired.

He seems to want to build a team of injured, talentless hacks.

You've admitted to never watching any team other the Blazers, and you've never once been right on talent evaluation. Thus, if you disagree with what Cho is doing, he must be doing something right.

Don't know about the injured part - but where is the rumor that he is trading for Sergio?

Well, the players Cho would give up fit that description as well.

Camby - Injured, downside of career.
Oden - Injured, injured, injured. And he's also injured a lot.
Miller - Exp. contract, downside of career.
Przybilla - Exp. contract, not the same after severe knee injury, downside of career.

Obviously since I watch all blazers games I watch all NBA teams.

    Think before you post.

As for talent evaluation I am always right and I never lie.

The fact that our players most likely to be traded were what we got in trades I vehemently opposed is the proof in the pudding.

That isn't obvious. From your analysis, I had just assumed you try to cover up the players on the other team by putting your hands on the TV screen.

As a noted 13th century philosopher once said: You may SEE other NBA teams when they play your home team, but that doesn't mean you WATCH them.

    You ever read Moneyball, Maris?

Here's an analysis of how those who don't want to (can't?) think strategically think Beane was an idiot in 2003 and now has seen the error of his ways and moved from OBP and fat guys hitting 3-run homers to speed and defense, when in reality he's continually building through underrated commodities. Now that everyone and their brother is looking at OBP, he's shifted to a model of picking up fast, athletic defensive guys on the cheap (to go with his staple of young pitching).

I think Cho's very much in the moneyball mindset. You can glean it from his reluctance to leak things to the media (hey! look at me! I make 1000 phone calls a week and blow up 3 phone batteries a day!), from his participation in OKC's track record of building a team of "upside" guys and renting out his cap space to get "future assets" and looking at injured, undeveloped, low-cost "upside" guys and see if they pan out. In the NBA the underrated commodity right now is the young guy who plays D and is probably looked at as a "bust".

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he's looking hard at taking Thabeet off of MEM's hands for close to nothing.

I know you opposed the Camby trade (which made us better) and the Miller signing (which has proven to be of value). You vehemently opposed signing Przybilla and drafting Oden as well? When was the last time the Blazers made a move of which you approved?

    I think you meant Maris.

If he is talking about Devin Harris then he isn't really far wrong.
He has had a lot of injury problems over his career and his numbers are that much better then Miller.

Not saying he is washed up but I don't think Devin is really an upgrade.
I would rather have old Miller for every game then younger Harris for 60 games a season.

if you want to say that Harris is alwayys injured, fine...but he doesn't count as "talentless" as the OP suggested. And Devin Harris is absolutely an upgrade in talent over Miller, which is why I brought up the Moneyball scenario.

This team wouldn't have any chance of trading for a "properly valued" Devin Harris. B/c of the circumstances (having to carry the load offensively for the worst team of the last 3 years) he's been in, some of the bloom is off the Harris rose. But this guy was an All-Star two years ago, and plays well in 65 games a year. And now has been working out with Tim Grover. This is a buy-low moment, one of Moneyball's "undervalued commodities."

Just the mention by some of you that you don't see that much of a difference shows that you highly overrate Andre and highly underrate Devin.

    Maris,
Who are some players you would be targeting if you had things your way?

He went to Europe to be the next Scottie Pippen. And had about as much success as Toni Kukoc did in coming to America to be the next Magic Johnson.
