Any team that has Oden go down, Pendy go down, Joel expiring and returning from injury and Camby (old, injury prone) and is not interested in a guy like Gortat (productive on small contract for a big) is stupid. As for Hinrich - any team that uses Patty Mills and Rudy as backup PG and is not interested in him as a backup PG for close to nothing - is again pretty stupid. It is pretty clear that there is either paralysis by analysis or a sham with a puppet GM.
A "great team" is a stretch in my book. We have a middling team that is headed for another 1st round exit.
Correct me if im wrong but a few years ago it was raef lafrentz and draft picks for wallace right? Im feeling some major deja-vu, and im crying at the same time While I do want gerald wallace on the blazers, he is also the best player to ever play for the bobcats, even though that isnt saying much. So im not that shocked that MJ is having second thoughts or cold feet.
Paul Allen will only offer Patty Mills and cash considerations though. Maybe they'll get lucky with one of their crazy lowball offers?
I think whether interest (by which I mean, serious attempts to acquire the player) is smart or stupid depends on the price involved. If the Wizards wanted Batum (as an example), not having interest in Hinrich was perfectly rational. I'm "interested" in Aaron Brooks as a backup point guard. That interest would evaporate quickly if the cost were particularly significant. My general philosophy on evaluating GMs/front offices is that evaluating decision-making process requires actual knowledge of what the decision-maker is thinking, what was actually available and what their constraints were. Judging without those things is largely just opinions made of nothing more substantial than air. That doesn't mean I don't think fans can have legitimate opinions on GMs but, lacking the ability to see and therefore judge the decision-making process, I think you have to work with results over a representative sample. I personally don't think that well under one year is a representative sample for an executive, who's plans can legitimately be 2-3 years in scope.
yeah please tell me how we are a better team with outlaw and blake instead of camby.... camby is a top rebounder in the NBA right now and blake is getting minimal minutes in LA cus he sucks and Outlaw is producing at a all time low now in NJ so please explain yourself haha
MARIS pretty much feels that the 2007-08 Blazers team had reached compositional perfection and all that was needed was to let that team bake, and Portland could have served multiple championships, piping hot. So he takes a dim view of any of the players from that team being let go.
Fuck-off with your fancy logic and reasoning, I just want to piss-and-moan about EVERYTHING Blazers-related! Let my e-voice be heard! FUCKING RAWR!!!1!!!!11!!11!!! "Sorry its teh truth!"
Fucking divas. I don't know if I believe this, but all this posturing by Rudy (either wanting to be traded, or not) is just stupid. It's a business, MAN UP.
Dear goodness if that is true just give up Rudy. Last I checked Wallace > Rudy. If Roy can stay relatively healthy we have no use for Rudy. This is why trades never get done we are only willing to give up expirings/complete scrubs (such as Babbitt), but no one of any decent value. Oh, I did miss the part how he would not want to play for Charlotte. Hmm.
