Pendergraph was an awesome locker room guy and he played his heart out everytime he got onto the floor. Heck in his first game ever about 2m in he got hit with a tech against mcdyess. The guy wouldn't stand down to anyone. But of course for all that hustle he gave out on the floor he also picked up fouls faster then a rookie oden.

You know, the Blazers have retired too many numbers. However, I think there should be some physical place in the RG with some cool name where they acknowledge players who've played 5 years and some number of 1000s of minutes for the blazers. Really, Joel deserves a huge plaque (and bio) on that wall.

edit: I'm thinking something kind of similar to the Cowboys Ring of Honor.

I love that idea. That would let us honor a ton of great players who aren't gonna have their number retired.

Anyone think his "hunch" on being back here was him knowing when the trade was made he'd be bought out and brought back? Maybe not, since Charlotte apparently already waived Marks, and they have no big men, but I hope so. Just seems like he was alluding to knowing he'd be back soon.

As for next season, I am all for bringing back Pendergraph, bringing Freeland over, and having Camby and Oden, and then hopefully signing one more vet big man. And then drafting a PF.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I definitely hope he's hinting that he'll be bought out. Przybilla may not be what he once was, but he sure beats a D-League center hollow.

I think that's his hunch, yeah, and I think it's more than a hunch but that of course he's not allowed to say.

Also, as for next season, that's a good plan, but I'd want a couple more big men too... just in case. :ghoti: I'd want our starting 5 (Camby, LMA, Wallace, Matthews, Miller), and these bench guys: Batum, Roy, Mills/Armon, Rudy. Then I want everyone 6 PF's / C's.

That's it for Joel as a Blazer. He'll command more than the Vet Min next year and we'll likely spend our MLE on a backup PF. Sonofabitch.

We're not waiting 30 days to re-sign Sean Marks.

And we play CHA on March 5th. Right around the damn corner. That's going to be a tough game to stomach.

Well, we'll see. I think it's better for him not to dwell on leaving Portland. I'd rather he were content with his here-and-now. He'll have enough time in the summer to think about what he wants to do, unless they decide to lock him up early. And assuming Charlotte misses the playoffs, he'll most likely be watching the Blazers on the tube.

I think the combo of the fans meeting him at midnight for his flight out of PDX, coupled with the standing ovation he'll get when he's back here on March 5, will weigh on his mind when he's contemplating what he wants to do for next season.

Joel may just come back. Never say never.

His ovation will be monumental. I can't wait to participate.
