    From the Denver Post:

"I can see Wallace play a lot of 4 for them," Karl said. "They added another athlete who can play 2-3-4 and gives Brandon Roy an opportunity to come back (from injury) at his speed rather than forcing him back. A veteran guy who wants to be on a playoff team. It's a smart move. Everyone was rumoring that they were going to trade to go younger. I think they traded to win."

Nate finally has a rotation of players that actually fit his switching defensive scheme. Wes, Nic, Wallace and LMA can all cover 3 (4?) positions and we finally have a true slasher at the 3 spot, but who also shoots best from long range in the corners.

This could be a really fun sprint to the post-season.

We face a .560 strength of schedule and Denver only .505. So CoolStandings projects them to finish a game ahead of us, even though we are currently tied.

Makes me wonder if their algorithm accounts for the addition of Wallace, Camby and a (hopefully) productive Roy?

I'm pretty sure the only "future information" it has is schedule. It assumes each team is whatever it's shown to date.

Because of last night's victory, CoolStandings gave us only .3 of a win more, and Denver .4 less. I thought, the computer doesn't seem to know any of the developments--we played with 9 players, we got Roy back, Roy looks more clutch than expected, and we have Wallace and Camby in the wings. The computer also doesn't seem to know that Denver just lost Anthony. What a stupid computer!

    predicted place..expected wins..strength of schedule..team

    5 47.5 .527 New Orleans
    6 46.6 .505 Denver
    7 45.6 .560 Portland
    8 44.9 .547 Memphis

If all four had equal SOS's, the predictions would have Portland up there with New Orleans and Memphis with Denver.

Denver looked every bit as good as we did, and I thought we looked very good. If Wallace can add without subtracting more we could see some great basketball down the stretch.

Nate may have found the key to Roy and Miller both having good games together by playing Rudy 44 minutes as a on-court mediator.

All 3 had solid games in the game for the first time I can remember.

    This.

Point me in the direction of another team contending for the playoffs that essentially is adding two All-Star level players to its rotation, plus Marcus Camby, without giving up another major player.

That's a great point Maris. I tried to remember last night when was the last time we had 5 guys get 16 points or more? They look like a balanced team offensively. But seeing Dre, Rudy, & Roy all in at the same time and playing well was a surprise. I hope it lasts.
