Baron Davis deserves being exiled to Cleveland. The Nets have some great pieces to build around and A LOT of cap space. Plus the move to Brooklyn has to be an exciting prospect for these players. I wonder if the Knicks made the right move going after Melo instead of DWill?
Knicks should've went after Williams but reports came out that the Knicks weren't made aware he was available.
I guess they had their blinders on the entire time. Mikhail Prokhorov played this one beautifully. It all blows up in his face if he can't keep Deron though, and Deron ends up with the Knicks after his contract runs out.
I wonder if he stays though. They are building around a center who averages 5 rebounds per game and not much else. Deron would be better off playing with two of the best scorers in the league across the river.
lol no bias there. You're right, but Prokorhov just landed the cornerstone of is franchise. The new Nets have just begun really. Obviously the Knicks are in a much better situation but given some more time maybe Prokhorov gets a pretty good foundation there. And do we know if the Knicks can even afford to pay all three? Many people speculate that the salary cap will go down. As it is they could barely get all three under the cap and thats with $0 and 0 other players on the team.
I was half kidding in the post. If you look at the Melo thread in the Knicks forum I said exactly what you said - we may not have the assets to acquire another big time player. My point though was that the Nets, even though they have Williams, are still in a dangerous position. As of now they are still one of the worst teams in the league and it doesn't look like they'll improve much next year either. As a result, Williams may decide to leave. It could also turn out that the Nets sign a big time free agent and draft an impact player in the draft. But like last summer, they could just end up with no one even though they had cap room.
Haha, usually when I post in the NYK forum I just have conversations with myself. But I'll be posting more now though.
Seeing as how a huge amount of "true" Knicks fans just showed up, you won't be talking to yourself very long
