Who's buying? I might pick one up...maybe might wait for a while to see them. we'll see. I might just buy one when I go to Oregon next to save on sales tax.
But you'd pay the use tax on it when you returned to CA, right? I'm sure you wouldn't want to deprive the state of any tax money you owe. barfo
I enjoy the experience of buying at the Apple store. I'm also not really in a rush. I'd use it primarily for travel and I haven't really traveled much lately.
Agreed. I got an iPad as part of our Christmas bonus and I took it back to get the cash. I haven't missed the iPad one bit in the last couple of months. Ed O.
I'm sure my wife will get one. I talked her out of v1.0 because of Apple's history of slow-releasing their technology.
I recently won an iPad 16 GB on QuiBids.com for $44.60 and sold it for $450. I'd would definitely choose 500 bucks over an iPad that will be out-of-date in 6 months.
I can see that for most people... I sit at my computer (behind my couch) watching TV most of the time that I'm home alone. My iPad would have just collected dust. Ed O.
I'd use it primarily for a magazine (zinio) and ebook reader. also for travelling instead of bringing my laptop. my phone is pretty adequate though. but sometimes i like the bigger screen.
Waste. Of. Money. Seriously, you can get a pretty decent laptop for that cost which can do things like... oh.... you know.... play blue rays or actually type things up.
already have a laptop. this is easier for pulling out at an airport and surfing the web, shit like that. can do on phone but battery drain and smaller screen. can also use it when you're in a city like in a messenger bag or small backpack. sit on a park bench and pull up a map or yelp review.
I love my iPad. I hardly use my lap top. I've used my laptop once this year, I think. I hate waiting for my laptop to start up. With my iPad, I hit a button and it starts. And I can easily carry it everywhere. Also- I can read about a book and then download it in a minute. While reading it, I can easily go to YouTube and wikipedia to see/learn more about what I'm reading. I play games on it. Check my email. Do my banking. Etc. And it so easy to use and carry around. I'm a big fan. Probably won't get the new one right away. I'm perfectly happy with the one I have. It's definitely made a difference in my daily life. Also, my 4 & 5 year old nieces loved playing all the children's games on it and watching movies on it, that I bought them one. They love it.
