Good. A lot of great competitors trump up reasons to feel slighted, to motivate themselves even more. Jordan was good at that.
I like the fire and I understand the anger, but he has the potential to be a part of a very good thing here in Portland over the next 3 years. I hope that he can start letting go of the feelings of rejection once tomorrow night's game is over.
There's nothing that suggests he harbors negative feelings for being in Portland, more at the betrayal showed by the Charlotte organization. I read somewhere that they told him 2 hours before the deadline that he wasn't going to be traded, and then he got traded a few minutes before the deadline. Stuff like that really sticks with players. I know I'd be pissed too.
No doubt. It's obvious his feelings of betrayal could have been minimized if the Bobcats Management (GM) would of communicated better with G. why they were shopping him in the first place. Never feels good to get blindsided. Dude lived there for seven years!
LOL! I was thinking the title should have been "Gerald Is Pissed.. (Slapped in the face)" <3 ya Mixie
I never said there was, but dwelling on something that is beyond your control for an extended period of time can have a negative impact on the present. As I said, I understand the anger and feelings of rejection, and perhaps tomorrow night's game can be a cathartic experience for Crash. I think it's a great thing that a trip to Charlotte was still on the schedule after the trade. I also wonder if going to Charlotte a day early was in part an excuse for Crash spending an extra day with his wife and kids.
We got a few wins against Detroit by riding Bonzi's perceived slight, and he never played a minute for them!
Sure, and I'm sure others have gone into funks. I think it's very fortunate that Wallace gets to spend a few days in Charlotte, and can produce even more productive energy for the rest of his stay in Portland!
The arena is right next door from our hotel...... today walking by, they had a huge crane just now taking down a 2 story picture of him on the wall. Hope he brings it strong tomorrow night!
That's brutal. Did he see it? Whenever I'm in PDX and ride the max to the airport and see the big GO-BRoy-LA sign across from the RG, I always wonder what would happen if one of them leaves the team.
That they had it up for 3 weeks is hilarious to me, though. Think MJ drove to the arena, saw it, and thought "oh shit, Gerald's coming to play here in a few days!".
Wait, so the big three pic on the grain elevator is gone? I haven't been in town since August (i'm visiting next week actually).
