No, it's because Tim Duncan was grandfathered in and Kevin Love was putting up big numbers on a shitty team. Aldridge didn't get in because he isn't hyped like Griffin and he didn't have the gaudy streak like Love. Period.

Agree. Duncan is averaging 9 rebounds and he made the team.

Griffin gets hyped more because he grabs more rebounds. His stat lines were more impressive than Aldridge. He's having the best rookie season statistically since David Robinson. The league would've hyped Oden even more if he had done the same thing. Remember how we suddenly had a lot of nationally televised games that year?

And Aldridge isn't averaging 9 rebounds per game and that's the problem. How many All Star PFs can you think of that average less than 9 rpg and if not, don't score 22+ppg? I can only think of Sheed. PFs who average less than 9 rebounds hardly ever make the team. I don't care how many rebounds he grabs if we win, but his low rebounding stat will hold him back from greatness individually and no one here wants to talk about it.

All star or not an all star, hyped or not hyped, I absolutely love what Aldridge has done this year. Fucking love it!

So if you grab 9 rebounds a game, but you can't guard a chair, you can still make the allstar game? I watched him tonight. Again good stats. And again defered down the stretch in a close game to Ridnour and the Rookie Wesley Johnson. I don't care if he averages 20 rebounds. His team sucks and he does not help them win. He is a very good role player though. I wish we had him as a back up PF.

I think averaging 8.8 rebounds a game or avraging 9.1 rebounds a game is the line drawn on who makes the all star team? I agree with Nate that there were NBA political reasons that the Duncan and Love made the all star game over LA . . . and LA's 8.8 rebounds vs. 9.1 rebounds of Duncan was not the deciding factor.

You really think .3 rebound difference was the difference in who made the all star team as a PF?

While I think rebounds might hurt LA some, I think the main thing was him not doing what he has been doing since mid Dec the whole year.

Every coach voted for him. Your point is moot. ;)
