Prior to his WWE return last month, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had stated publicly in several interviews that his in-ring career was likely forever. Fast forward to 2011′s red-hot feud with John Cena and The Great One appears to have changed his tune. The Rock is on the cover of the latest issue of WWE Magazine and tells them he’s ready to throw down in the ring once again. When asked how many of his old ring outfits he still has, Rock said, “I still own it all. It’s still with me in my house. It was never going away because I knew I would one day use it again.” That sounds like he’s talking about wrestling again, so The Rock was asked, “So does that mean you’re coming back to fight as well?” He responded,”Making movies is something that I love to do, and I know that it brings a lot of people joy, which in turn brings me and my soul great gratification. Being in the ring and entertaining the audience and kicking ass physically brings me and my soul great gratification as well. I can guarantee that I can always do both.” source:http://www.sescoops.com/wrestling-news/wwe/the-rock-says-he-will-wrestle-again/ This is great news for fellow Rock fans like myself although it does completely contradict what The Rock has said on MANY occasions about NEVER wrestleing again.
I'd love to see him wrestle again, but I don't know how optimistic I am about him returning to the ring. If he does though, you gotta think it'll be pretty soon, because they can't hold up this Cena feud for too long.
Is this a good thing? It looks like no matter what, the true winner of this will be John Cena. There's no way McMahon allows Cena to look bad.
But even Vince has to realize that it would be pretty anticlimatic to have The Rock FINALLY return after such a long hiatus from the ring and wrestle only to lose to John Cena in the long run. Thats why i'm pretty positive The Rock will win the initial first match but may lose the second encounter. I'm at this point just hoping that The Rock returning to the ring will spur Stone Cold to consider coming back for 1 last match with The Great One.
I honestly don't even care about wrestling. I DVR Raw every week and fast forward through every actual match.
I disagree. He's already making him look bad with this storyline, because The Rock has completely owned Cena every week he's cut a promo. He also made Cena look like a bitch for 4 straight weeks to The Miz. Oh yea, and he made Cena look bad with The Nexus storyline. I think he's completely ok with making him look bad, because it has no ill effect on how people look at him.
I think what makes a lot of the wrestling these days bad, is that you know the match isn't going to end, someone is gonna run in or something is going to happen. I thought Mysterio/Orton was a decent match for a bit, up until they interrupted it with CM Punk and Orton's wife. That said, they do have the occasional good match on Raw. Almost every time Daniel Bryan wrestles it's pretty good. Same with Sheams these days, he has really been delivering on some decent matches in my opinion. A couple of them with Bryan, a couple with Morrison, that cage match with him and Orton and Barrett was good. There is still some good matches.
As long as Morrison is in singles matches, he's been golden. His falls count anywhere match with The Miz to start the year is still probably the best singles match I've seen this year. He made The Miz, who I don't particularly like in the ring, look good that match.
Agreed with everything said here. Dolph Ziggler as well has delivered on some entertaining matches, which is why their Wrestlemania match is so dissapointing in my opinion. The three person tag, with the girls, especially Snookie is just like WTF? I'm not a fan of that match at all. That said, I guess I can see from the attracting viewers standpoint why they are doing it. I'm sure there are gonna be a few Jersey Shore fans tune in, just to see what Snookie will do.
